Shipping from Dubai
to Fiji.
We ship from Dubai and from anywhere in the UAE to Fiji by sea and by air. We carry business and personal cargo. Every consignment is subject to biosecurity, your buyer registers with the revenue and customs service, and if a vehicle is involved the import licence needs to be in hand before the ship loads, not after it arrives.
Overview
Sea and air freight
to Fiji.
Shipping from Dubai to Fiji takes about 36 to 37 days by sea, and 6 to 8 days by air. Current route planning puts Jebel Ali to Suva at around 36 days and Lautoka at around 37, in both cases through one transhipment and including terminal handling. Suva serves the capital and the south east of Viti Levu. Lautoka serves the west, including Nadi and the tourism corridor. Malau serves Vanua Levu in the north. Air cargo flies into Nadi, which is the main international gateway, or Suva. Your buyer registers with the Fiji Revenue and Customs Service, and every consignment is subject to the Biosecurity Authority of Fiji. We deliver across Viti Levu and Vanua Levu, including Suva, Nadi, Lautoka, Labasa, Nausori and Sigatoka.

Ports and gateways
Sea ports and airports
we ship to from Dubai.
Every bill of lading carries two ports: where the cargo loads, and where it discharges. We load at Jebel Ali or another UAE port. Fiji has three sea ports we use and two airports. They suit different cargo and different inland legs, so the loading port and the discharge port are worth choosing separately.
POLPort of loading
We collect anywhere in the UAE, free zones included, and load at whichever of these eight suits the cargo.

PODPort of discharge
The right one is whichever leaves the shortest inland leg to your delivery address. On a long lane that leg is a shipment in its own right, so it is planned rather than assumed.

How cargo reaches Suva
Shipping from Dubai to Suva runs at around 36 days on current route planning, through one transhipment and including terminal handling. Suva is the capital and the main container gateway, and it serves the more populated south east of the main island. Sea freight is priced per container on a full load and per cubic metre on a shared one. Get a rate for Suva - LautokaFJLTKSea port, Bligh WaterLautoka, Nadi, Sigatoka and western Viti Levu
How cargo reaches Lautoka
Shipping from Dubai to Lautoka arrives on a feeder from a Pacific or Asian hub, because nothing sails direct from the Gulf. It serves western Viti Levu and the sugar belt. That feeder leg sets the timing, so we confirm the days when we quote. Suva is the alternative and carries the wider service network. The quote separates ocean freight, transshipment, the feeder leg, wharf handling, customs, biosecurity and final delivery. Get a rate for Lautoka - MalauFJMALSea port, Vanua LevuLabasa and Vanua Levu
How cargo reaches Malau
Shipping from Dubai to Malau requires confirmed vessel acceptance, because the wharf mainly works sugar, molasses and bulk traffic on Vanua Levu rather than routine containers. Times vary from ship to ship, so we confirm the days when we quote. Suva is the alternative for anything in a container. The quote separates ocean freight, transshipment, berth and equipment charges, customs, biosecurity, storage and delivery. How cargo reaches Nadi International Airport
Nadi is the main international air cargo gateway for Fiji, and at 6 to 8 days from Dubai on current route planning it is the practical option for anything urgent. Even for Suva deliveries it is often the better arrival point. Get a rate for Nadi International Airport - Nausori AirportSUVAirportSuva and south eastern Viti Levu
How cargo reaches Nausori Airport
Air freight from Dubai to Nausori connects through a Pacific or Asian hub, subject to commodity, space, screening and local cargo handling approval. It is the airport for Suva, but Nadi takes the larger aircraft and most of the freight. Times vary from flight to flight, so we confirm the days when we quote. Nadi International is the alternative. The quote separates uplift, connection, screening, terminal, customs, biosecurity and final delivery charges. Get a rate for Nausori Airport

Import rules
for Fiji.
Two things run this lane. Your buyer registers with the Fiji Revenue and Customs Service to get access to the customs system, and once registered the import declaration is lodged electronically. Separately, every consignment coming into Fiji is subject to the Biosecurity Authority of Fiji, so plant, animal and food products need the right permits and treatment. Vehicles have their own rules and the timing is the part people get wrong. Hybrid and electric vehicles must be five years old or less, and diesel or petrol vehicles eight years old or less, both measured from the year of manufacture, and they must meet a Euro 4 or equivalent emissions standard. The important bit is that the import licence should be obtained before the vehicle is loaded and shipped, not after it arrives. A car that sails without one is a very expensive problem sitting on a wharf.

Documentation
Documents you need
for Fiji.
These 10 cover most shipments to Fiji. The exact list depends on the commodity and its HS code, so send us both and we confirm what applies before the cargo is booked.
- 01Invoice showing what you paid for the goods
- 02Packing list showing what is inside
- 03Certificate of origin showing where the goods were made
- 04Bill of lading or air waybill, which is the shipping ticket
- 05Dubai export paper, which we do for you
- 06Fiji Revenue and Customs Service registration for the importer
- 07Electronic import declaration
- 08Biosecurity permit and treatment certificates, where the goods require them
- 09Import licence for a vehicle, obtained before loading
- 10Proof of year of manufacture and emissions standard, on a vehicle import
Get the paperwork right in Dubai and clearance at destination is routine. Fixing a document after arrival is slow, and storage accrues the whole time it takes.

Questions
Cargo to Fiji
questions, answered.
The 14 we are asked most on the Dubai to Fiji route. If yours is not here, send it with the commodity and we will answer it directly.
How long does shipping from Dubai to Fiji take?
Sea freight to Fiji takes about 36 to 37 days, and air freight takes 6 to 8 days. Current route planning puts Suva at around 36 days and Lautoka at around 37, both through one transhipment and including terminal handling. There is no short routing on this lane, so we plan around the length rather than promising a figure we cannot hold.
Can you ship a car from Dubai to Fiji, and what are the age limits?
Yes, and the limits differ by fuel type. Hybrid and electric vehicles must be five years old or less. Diesel and petrol vehicles must be eight years old or less. Both are measured from the year of manufacture, and the vehicle must meet a Euro 4 or equivalent emissions standard. Send us the make, model, year and chassis number and we will check it against both rules before you commit.
When do I need the vehicle import licence?
Before the vehicle is loaded and shipped, not after it arrives. That is the single most expensive mistake on this lane. A car that sails without a licence is a problem sitting on a wharf a very long way from Dubai. We start with the licence and book the shipping around it.
Does my buyer need to register with customs?
Yes. The importer registers with the Fiji Revenue and Customs Service to get access to the customs system, and once registered the import declaration is lodged electronically. We confirm the registration is in place before you book rather than discovering it at the port.
What does the Biosecurity Authority of Fiji check?
Every consignment entering Fiji is subject to it, which is broader than most countries. Plant, animal and food products need the right permits and treatment. Ordinary manufactured cargo usually passes without difficulty, but the wooden packing and pallets are worth getting right. Send us the product and we will tell you what applies.
How much does shipping from Dubai to Fiji cost?
It depends on what you send, how big it is, and where in Fiji it is going. We do not publish prices because every shipment is different. Sea freight is priced per container when you fill one, and per cubic metre when you share one. Air freight is priced on weight or size, whichever is greater. Biosecurity treatment and vehicle licensing are quoted up front. Send us the details.
Which places in Fiji do you deliver to?
Across both main islands. Suva, Nadi, Lautoka, Nausori, Labasa, Ba, Sigatoka, Rakiraki, Navua, Tavua, Savusavu, Korovou, Levuka, Deuba, Vatukoula and Nakasi. Anything on Vanua Levu or the smaller islands needs a domestic leg, which we quote separately rather than folding in.
Suva or Lautoka?
Suva for the capital and the south east. Lautoka for Nadi, Sigatoka and the western side of Viti Levu, including the tourism corridor. They are about a day apart on the water, so the road leg decides it rather than the sailing. Tell us the delivery town.
Do you deliver to Vanua Levu?
Yes. Malau serves Labasa and the northern island, and cargo normally comes in through Suva or Lautoka and then crosses on a domestic leg. We quote that leg properly rather than treating Fiji as a single delivery point.
Do you deliver door to door?
Yes. We handle freight forwarding to Fiji door to door. We collect the goods in Dubai, move them, clear customs and biosecurity, and bring them to your address. You deal with one company for the whole journey.
Can I send a small shipment, or do I need a full container?
You can send as little as one box or one pallet. We put small shipments from different customers into one shared container. This is called LCL, or less than container load. Your goods load at Jebel Ali and come into Suva or Lautoka. When you have more goods, you move up to your own full container, which is called FCL. We will tell you which one is cheaper.
Is air freight worth it to Fiji?
More than on most lanes, because the gap is so wide. Sea is around 36 days and air is 6 to 8, so for anything urgent or high value the maths is unusually clear here. Nadi is the main international gateway and is usually the better arrival point even for a Suva delivery.
Do you handle customs clearance in Fiji?
Yes, at both ends, along with the biosecurity side. We do customs clearance in Dubai and the electronic import declaration plus the biosecurity requirements in Fiji.
Can you collect the goods from my supplier in Dubai?
Yes. We collect anywhere in Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and the rest of the UAE. We can also hold your goods in warehousing and storage in Dubai until you are ready to ship. On a 36 day lane that is genuinely useful, because it lets the cargo wait for a licence rather than the licence chase the cargo.
