Shipping from Dubai
to Futuna Island.
We ship from Dubai and from anywhere in the UAE to Futuna Island by sea and by air. We carry business and personal cargo. Futuna shares its customs rules with Wallis but not its transport: it is a separate island with its own leg, and a quote that treats it as an extension of Wallis is a quote with a hole in it.
Overview
Sea and air freight
to Futuna Island.
We ship from Dubai to Futuna Island by sea and by air. Futuna is part of the Wallis and Futuna territory but is a separate island reached by its own leg, not a road journey from Wallis. Leava is the principal customs quayside for Futuna, Sigave is an associated maritime location in the west, and Pointe Vele Airport handles regional air connections for Futuna and Alofi. All goods imported into the territory must be declared to Customs on arrival, and controlled products can need specific approval. Qualifying personal and household goods can receive transfer of residence relief, but motor vehicles are excluded from it. We deliver across the island, including Leava, Sigave, Vele and Poi.

Ports and gateways
Ports and airports
we ship to from Dubai.
Every bill of lading carries two ports: where the cargo loads, and where it discharges. We load at Jebel Ali or another UAE port. For Futuna Island we fly into one airport. The discharge point and the clearance point are decided by different things, so they are worth choosing separately.
POLPort of loading
We collect anywhere in the UAE, free zones included, and load at whichever of these eight suits the cargo.

PODPort of discharge
The right one is whichever leaves the shortest inland leg to your delivery address. On a long lane that leg is a shipment in its own right, so it is planned rather than assumed.

How cargo reaches Leava
Leava is the principal customs quayside for Futuna, where the local customs service operates. Dubai cargo requires regional transhipment before reaching the island. We could not verify a current UN/LOCODE for Leava to our own standard, so we have left the code off rather than print one we have not checked. How cargo reaches Sigave
Shipping from Dubai to Sigave is worked at Leava, the port in that district, after regional transshipment and a confirmed Wallis and Futuna feeder. The wharf is small and swell can stop working, so both legs vary and we confirm the days when we quote. Mata’Utu on Wallis is the alternative. The quote separates ocean freight, transshipment, the feeder leg, wharf handling or lighterage, customs and delivery. Get a rate for Sigave - Pointe Vele AirportFUTAirportFutuna and Alofi
How cargo reaches Pointe Vele Airport
Air freight from Dubai to Pointe Vele connects through a Pacific hub and Hihifo on Wallis, then a short inter island hop that takes only small and light consignments. Space on that leg is the limit, so we confirm the days when we quote. Leava by sea is the alternative for anything heavy. The quote separates uplift, connection, the inter island leg, screening, terminal, customs and delivery. Get a rate for Pointe Vele Airport

Import rules
for Futuna Island.
Futuna sits within the Wallis and Futuna customs territory, so the rules are the territory’s: all imported goods must be declared to Customs on arrival, and there is no separately verified universal pre-shipment permit, though controlled products need their own approval. Qualifying personal and household goods can receive transfer of residence relief, and motor vehicles are excluded from that concession, exactly as on Wallis. Where Futuna differs is transport rather than paperwork. It is a separate island roughly two hundred kilometres from Wallis, reached by its own sailing or by air into Pointe Vele. There is no road between them. A quote built as though Futuna were a delivery suburb of Mata’Utu is missing a leg, and that leg has its own schedule, its own cost and its own cutoff.

Documentation
Documents you need
for Futuna Island.
These 9 cover most shipments to Futuna Island. The exact list depends on the commodity and its HS code, so send us both and we confirm what applies before the cargo is booked.
- 01Invoice showing what you paid for the goods
- 02Packing list showing what is inside
- 03Certificate of origin showing where the goods were made
- 04Bill of lading or air waybill, which is the shipping ticket
- 05Dubai export paper, which we do for you
- 06Customs import declaration
- 07Product-specific permit or certificate where required
- 08Residence-transfer supporting documents where relief is claimed
- 09Transport documentation for the final island leg
Get the paperwork right in Dubai and clearance at destination is routine. Fixing a document after arrival is slow, and storage accrues the whole time it takes.

How it works
Dubai to Futuna Island
shipping, step by step.
Send the cargo details: what it is, where it is going, rough weight and dimensions. We come back with the routes that suit it, sea against air, and a written rate with a validity date on it. You pick one, we book it, and one coordinator stays with the shipment until it is delivered in Futuna Island.
- 01
Tell us it is Futuna, not Wallis
Confirm the island up front, because the final leg is a separate sailing with its own schedule rather than a road delivery.

Questions
Cargo to Futuna Island
questions, answered.
The 15 we are asked most on the Dubai to Futuna Island route. If yours is not here, send it with the commodity and we will answer it directly.
Do you offer movers and packers for a house move from Dubai to Futuna Island?
Yes. Our movers and packers do the packing, wrapping and listing in Dubai, then we ship your furniture and household goods in a full container, or share one if you have less to send. The item by item list matters, because customs clear personal effects against it. Fuel, gas cylinders, paint, aerosols and loose batteries cannot travel, and we give you the full list before packing day.
How long does shipping from Dubai to Futuna take?
We could not verify a current published transit range, so we do not print one. Cargo reaches Futuna through regional transhipment and then a final leg into the island itself, and we quote the days from the routing we can actually book including that last leg.
Is Futuna reached by road from Wallis?
No. They are separate islands roughly two hundred kilometres apart with no road between them. Cargo for Futuna needs its own leg, either a sailing to the Leava quayside or air into Pointe Vele. That is the single most common mistake made when quoting this destination.
Why is a Futuna price higher than a Wallis price?
Because it includes a leg that a Wallis price does not. If the two quotes look the same, the Futuna one is missing the island leg rather than beating the market. We show that leg as its own line so you can see what you are paying for.
Can I bring my car in under the household goods relief?
No. Motor vehicles are excluded from the transfer of residence relief across the Wallis and Futuna territory. The vehicle can still be imported, but on its own terms with duty and taxes rather than under your household exemption.
Do I need an import permit for Futuna?
All goods imported into the territory must be declared to Customs on arrival, and there is no separately verified universal pre-shipment permit, though controlled products need their own approval. Send us the product and we will confirm before you book.
How much does shipping from Dubai to Futuna cost?
It depends on what you send, how big it is, and how the island leg is running. We do not publish prices because every shipment is different. Sea freight is priced per container when you fill one, and per cubic metre when you share one. The final leg into Futuna is quoted as its own line. Send us the details.
Which places on Futuna do you deliver to?
Leava, Sigave, Vele, Ono, Poi, Taoa, Kolia, Mala’e, Vaisei, Nuku, Alo and Fiua. The island is small, so once the cargo is ashore and cleared the delivery leg is short. Getting it ashore is the part that needs planning.
Why do you not list a port code for Leava?
Because we could not verify a current UN/LOCODE for it to the standard we hold ourselves to, so we left it off rather than printing one we had not checked. A wrong code on a booking causes real problems, and a visible gap is better than a confident guess.
Is air freight worth it to Futuna?
More often than you would expect, because the sea leg into the island runs to its own schedule rather than continuously. Pointe Vele Airport serves Futuna and Alofi through regional connections, and when the sailing does not suit, air stops being an extravagance and starts being the practical option.
Can you ship a car from Dubai to Futuna?
Yes. Vehicle imports go through the territory customs and registration process. We could not verify a current used-vehicle age limit, so we confirm the position before you buy rather than guessing. The vehicle sits outside the household goods relief either way.
Do you deliver door to door?
Yes, including the island leg. We handle freight forwarding to Futuna, collect the goods in Dubai, arrange the transhipment and the final leg, clear customs and deliver to your address.
Can I send a small shipment, or do I need a full container?
You can send as little as one box or one pallet. We put small shipments from different customers into one shared container. This is called LCL, or less than container load. When you have more goods, you move up to your own full container, which is called FCL. On a lane with a separate island leg, a shared container is often the sensible answer for a long time.
Do you handle customs clearance for Futuna?
Yes, at both ends. We do customs clearance in Dubai and the import declaration on arrival, where the local customs service operates at the Leava quayside, including a residence relief claim where you are entitled to one.
Can you move my household goods to Futuna?
Yes. We move full house moves and part loads. Qualifying personal and household goods can receive transfer of residence relief under the territory rules, with motor vehicles excluded. Tell us your dates and what you own, and tell us it is Futuna rather than Wallis, so the island leg is in the plan from the start.
