Before you ship

Import rules
for the United States.

The United States wants to know about your shipment before the ship leaves Dubai, not when it arrives. The filing is called an ISF. It lists who is buying, who is selling, what the goods are and where they were made, and it has to be sent at least 24 hours before the container is loaded. We do this for you as part of the booking. There are fines if it is late, so we ask for the details early rather than chasing them at the last minute. Your US buyer also needs a customs bond, which is a simple insurance the importer holds. Tell us who is receiving the goods and we will check they have one.

Do you offer movers and packers for a house move from Dubai to United States?

Yes. Our movers and packers do the packing, wrapping and listing in Dubai, then we ship your furniture and household goods in a full container, or share one if you have less to send. How much does shipping from Dubai to the USA cost?

It depends on what you send, how big it is, and where in the United States it is going. We do not publish prices because every shipment is different. Sea freight to the United States is priced per container when you fill one, and per cubic metre when you share one. Air freight to the United States is priced on weight or size, whichever is greater. Should my cargo go to the east coast or the west coast?

It depends where you are. From Dubai the ship usually goes east through the Suez Canal, so the east coast is the shorter trip for most cargo. If you are in California or the north west, we can route to Los Angeles or Long Beach instead. We price both if you are unsure.

Do you deliver door to door?

Can I send a small shipment, or do I need a full container?

You can send as little as one box or one pallet. We put small shipments from different customers into one shared container. This is called LCL, or less than container load. Your goods load at Jebel Ali and come into New York and New Jersey. When you have more goods, you move up to your own full container, which is called FCL. We will tell you which one is cheaper.

What is an ISF filing?

It is a list of details about your shipment that US customs want before the ship loads in Dubai. Who is buying, who is selling, what the goods are and where they were made. We do it for you. It has to be in at least 24 hours before loading, and there are fines if it is late.

What happens if the ISF is filed late?

US customs can fine the importer, and the container can be held or checked when it lands. It is completely avoidable, which is why we ask for the shipment details early rather than close to the sailing date.

What is a customs bond, and do I need one?

It is a simple insurance that the person importing in the US holds. It promises customs that the duty will be paid. Your US buyer needs one before the goods arrive. We check they have it before we ship.

Can you ship a car from Dubai to the USA?

Sometimes, but the rules are strict. Most cars have to meet US safety and emissions standards, and cars over 25 years old are treated differently. Send us the make, model, year and chassis number and we will tell you honestly whether it can be done.

Do you handle customs clearance in the USA?

Yes, at both ends. We do the export papers in Dubai and our agent clears the goods in the US. You do not need to find your own customs broker.

Can you collect the goods from my supplier in Dubai?

Yes. We collect anywhere in Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and the rest of the UAE. We can also hold your goods in warehousing and storage in Dubai until you are ready to ship. That helps when you are buying from several suppliers and want everything to travel to New York and New Jersey in one container.

Can you move my household goods to the USA?
