Shipping from Dubai
to Vanuatu.

We ship from Dubai and from anywhere in the UAE to Vanuatu by sea and by air. We carry business and personal cargo. Vanuatu has four approved ports of entry, but only two of them clear electronically, and that difference decides how quickly your cargo gets off the wharf more than the sailing does.

Overview

Sea and air freight
to Vanuatu.

We ship from Dubai to Vanuatu by sea and by air. Vanuatu has four approved ports of entry: Port Vila and Luganville clear through the electronic ASYCUDA system, while Lenakel on Tanna and Sola in Torba Province are processed manually. Port Vila on Efate is the main international cargo gateway and Luganville on Espiritu Santo serves the north. Air cargo flies into Bauerfield International at Port Vila. Commercial imports are cleared through Vanuatu Customs and ASYCUDA, which can require an ASYCUDA registration code, and controlled goods need a Biosecurity Import Permit. An imported vehicle must be registered locally no later than one month after importation. We deliver across the islands, including Port Vila, Luganville, Lakatoro and Isangel.

Ports and gateways

Sea ports and airports
we ship to from Dubai.

Every bill of lading carries two ports: where the cargo loads, and where it discharges. We load at Jebel Ali or another UAE port. Vanuatu has four sea ports we use and one airport. They suit different cargo and different inland legs, so the loading port and the discharge port are worth choosing separately.

  1. POLPort of loading

We collect anywhere in the UAE, free zones included, and load at whichever of these eight suits the cargo.

  2. PODPort of discharge

The right one is whichever leaves the shortest inland leg to your delivery address. On a long lane that leg is a shipment in its own right, so it is planned rather than assumed.

    • Port VilaVUVLISea port, South Pacific OceanPort Vila, Efate and national distribution
How cargo reaches Port Vila Shipping from Dubai to Port Vila arrives on a feeder from a Pacific or Asian hub, because nothing sails direct from the Gulf. It is the country's main gateway and where most cargo clears. That feeder leg sets the timing, so we confirm the days when we quote. Luganville is the alternative for the northern islands. The quote separates ocean freight, transshipment, the feeder leg, wharf handling, customs, biosecurity and final delivery. Get a rate for Port Vila
    • LuganvilleVULUGSea port, Espiritu SantoLuganville and northern Vanuatu
How cargo reaches Luganville Shipping from Dubai to Luganville arrives on a feeder from a Pacific or Asian hub, and its deep wharf on Espiritu Santo serves the northern islands without a run down to Port Vila. That feeder leg sets the timing, so we confirm the days when we quote. Port Vila is the alternative and clears more cargo. The quote separates ocean freight, transshipment, the feeder leg, wharf handling, customs, biosecurity and final delivery. Get a rate for Luganville
    • LenakelSea port, TannaTanna
How cargo reaches Lenakel Shipping from Dubai to Lenakel enters through Port Vila, then continues on a coastal vessel to Tanna, where the wharf is exposed and weather can delay working. Both legs vary, so we confirm the days when we quote. Port Vila is the alternative when clearing and shipping on separately suits better. The quote separates ocean freight, transshipment, the coastal leg, wharf handling or lighterage, customs, biosecurity and delivery. Get a rate for Lenakel
    • SolaSea port, Vanua LavaTorba Province
How cargo reaches Sola Shipping from Dubai to Sola enters through Luganville, then continues on a coastal vessel to Vanua Lava in the far north, which is served infrequently. That second leg sets the timing, so we confirm the days when we quote. Luganville is the alternative when clearing and shipping on separately suits better. The quote separates ocean freight, transshipment, the coastal leg, wharf handling or lighterage, customs, biosecurity and delivery. Get a rate for Sola
    • Bauerfield International AirportVLIAirportPort Vila and national air distribution
How cargo reaches Bauerfield International Airport Air freight from Dubai to Bauerfield International connects through a Pacific or Asian hub, subject to commodity, space, screening and local cargo handling approval. It is Vanuatu's main airport, and hold capacity on the regional leg is the usual limit rather than the long flight. Times vary from flight to flight, so we confirm the days when we quote. Port Vila by sea is the alternative for volume. The quote separates uplift, connection, screening, terminal, customs, biosecurity and final delivery charges. Before you ship

Import rules
for Vanuatu.

Vanuatu clears commercial imports through Customs and the ASYCUDA system, and the import procedure can require an ASYCUDA registration code for the importer. Controlled goods need a Biosecurity Import Permit, which should be obtained before shipment rather than on arrival. There is a second thing worth planning around, which is the port of entry. Port Vila and Luganville clear electronically. Lenakel on Tanna and Sola in Torba Province are approved ports of entry too, but their customs processing is manual, so clearance there runs on a different and generally slower track. If a vehicle is involved there is a deadline on the other side of arrival as well: an imported vehicle must be registered locally no later than one month after importation, so the local registration is part of the plan rather than an afterthought.

Documentation

Documents you need
for Vanuatu.

These 10 cover most shipments to Vanuatu. The exact list depends on the commodity and its HS code, so send us both and we confirm what applies before the cargo is booked.

  • 01Invoice showing what you paid for the goods
  • 02Packing list showing what is inside
  • 03Certificate of origin showing where the goods were made
  • 04Bill of lading or air waybill, which is the shipping ticket
  • 05Dubai export paper, which we do for you
  • 06ASYCUDA customs declaration
  • 07ASYCUDA registration code for the importer where required
  • 08Freight statement
  • 09Biosecurity Import Permit for controlled goods
  • 10Local registration documents within one month on a vehicle import

Get the paperwork right in Dubai and clearance at destination is routine. Fixing a document after arrival is slow, and storage accrues the whole time it takes.

Dubai to Vanuatu
shipping, step by step.

Send the cargo details: what it is, where it is going, rough weight and dimensions. We come back with the routes that suit it, sea against air, and a written rate with a validity date on it. You pick one, we book it, and one coordinator stays with the shipment until it is delivered in Vanuatu.

Questions

Cargo to Vanuatu
questions, answered.

The 14 we are asked most on the Dubai to Vanuatu route. If yours is not here, send it with the commodity and we will answer it directly.

How long does shipping from Dubai to Vanuatu take?

We could not verify a current published transit range for this lane, so we do not print one. Both sea and air run on relay services through the Pacific, and we quote the days from the routing we can actually book. If another page gives you a confident number here, it is fair to ask which service it is on.

Which port should my cargo enter through?

Usually Port Vila or Luganville, because those two clear electronically through ASYCUDA. Lenakel on Tanna and Sola in Torba are approved ports of entry too, but their customs processing is manual and generally slower. Routing straight to an outer island can cost more in clearance time than the domestic leg would have taken.

Does my buyer need to register with customs?

The import procedure can require an ASYCUDA registration code for the importer, so we confirm that before booking. Controlled goods also need a Biosecurity Import Permit, which should be in hand before shipment rather than applied for on arrival.

Can you ship a car from Dubai to Vanuatu?

Yes, and there is a deadline after it lands: an imported vehicle must be registered locally no later than one month after importation. We could not verify a maximum vehicle age, so rather than guess we confirm the current position before you buy. Send us the make, model, year and chassis number.

What is a Biosecurity Import Permit?

It is the permit Vanuatu requires for controlled goods, covering the biosecurity risk side rather than the customs side. It should be obtained before shipment. Send us the product and we will tell you whether one applies before you book rather than after the container sails.

How much does shipping from Dubai to Vanuatu cost?

It depends on what you send, how big it is, and which island it is going to. We do not publish prices because every shipment is different. Sea freight is priced per container when you fill one, and per cubic metre when you share one. Air freight is priced on weight or size, whichever is greater. Send us the details and we will put it in writing.

Which places in Vanuatu do you deliver to?

Port Vila, Luganville, Mele, Lakatoro, Norsup, Isangel, Lenakel, Sola, Saratamata, Longana and Port Olry. Vanuatu is a long chain of islands, so most destinations beyond Efate and Espiritu Santo involve a domestic sailing that we quote as its own leg.

Do you deliver to the outer islands?

Yes. Cargo normally clears at Port Vila or Luganville and continues on a domestic service. Those sailings set the delivery date rather than our arrival, so we confirm the schedule instead of estimating it.

I am moving to Vanuatu. Do I get relief on my belongings?

You may. First-time residents and qualifying returning Vanuatu residents can obtain concessions on used personal and household effects. The published concession requires specified residence conditions and normally at least twelve months of prior ownership or availability for use overseas. Tell us your dates and what you own and we will work through it.

Do you deliver door to door?

Yes. We handle freight forwarding to Vanuatu door to door. We collect the goods in Dubai, move them, clear the ASYCUDA declaration and biosecurity, and bring the goods to your address including the island leg.

Can I send a small shipment, or do I need a full container?

You can send as little as one box or one pallet. We put small shipments from different customers into one shared container. This is called LCL, or less than container load. Your goods load at Jebel Ali and come into Port Vila. When you have more goods, you move up to your own full container, which is called FCL. We will tell you which one is cheaper.

Do you handle customs clearance in Vanuatu?

Yes, at both ends. We do customs clearance in Dubai and the ASYCUDA declaration in Vanuatu, along with the biosecurity requirements. Where the entry port is one of the manual ones we plan for the longer process rather than being surprised by it.

Can you collect the goods from my supplier in Dubai?

Yes. We collect anywhere in Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and the rest of the UAE. We can also hold your goods in warehousing and storage in Dubai until you are ready to ship, which is useful while a biosecurity permit or ASYCUDA registration is being arranged.

Can you ship machinery and equipment to Vanuatu?

Yes. We move project cargo to Vanuatu as well. Big, heavy items go in open top or flat rack containers, or loose on the ship. For anything continuing to an outer island the domestic vessel sets the practical size limit, so send us the dimensions and the destination island together.
