Shipping from Dubai
to Honduras.

We ship from Dubai and from anywhere in the UAE to Honduras by sea and by air. We carry business and personal cargo. Puerto Cortes on the Caribbean takes almost everything, and San Lorenzo on the Pacific is the option nobody mentions. If a vehicle is involved, there is a hard age limit worth reading before you buy.

Overview

Sea and air freight
to Honduras.

Shipping from Dubai to Honduras takes about 41 days by sea and around 7 to 8 days by air. A current route model puts the whole journey through Puerto Cortes at about 41 days including handling and inland routing. Puerto Cortes on the Caribbean is the principal container gateway and serves San Pedro Sula, Tegucigalpa and most of the country. Puerto Castilla serves Trujillo and the north east, and San Lorenzo on the Gulf of Fonseca is the Pacific side option for Choluteca and the south. Air cargo flies into Ramon Villeda Morales at San Pedro Sula for the industrial north, or Palmerola for the capital region. If you are bringing a car, motor vehicles over ten years old are prohibited from ordinary import. We deliver everywhere, including Tegucigalpa, San Pedro Sula, Choloma, La Ceiba, El Progreso and Choluteca.

Ports and gateways

Sea ports and airports
we ship to from Dubai.

Every bill of lading carries two ports: where the cargo loads, and where it discharges. We load at Jebel Ali or another UAE port. Honduras has three sea ports we use and two airports. They suit different cargo and different inland legs, so the loading port and the discharge port are worth choosing separately.

  1. POLPort of loading

We collect anywhere in the UAE, free zones included, and load at whichever of these eight suits the cargo.

  2. PODPort of discharge

The right one is whichever leaves the shortest inland leg to your delivery address. On a long lane that leg is a shipment in its own right, so it is planned rather than assumed.

How cargo reaches Puerto Cortes Shipping from Dubai to Puerto Cortes is the main route into Honduras, and a current route model puts the whole journey at about 41 days including handling and the inland leg. It is the principal container gateway and sits close to San Pedro Sula, the industrial centre, with the road on to Tegucigalpa from there. Sea freight is priced per container on a full load and per cubic metre on a shared one. Get a rate for Puerto Cortes

How cargo reaches Puerto Castilla Shipping from Dubai to Puerto Castilla requires confirmed vessel acceptance, because the port is remote and works mainly bulk and fruit rather than routine containers. Times vary from ship to ship, so we confirm the days when we quote. Puerto Cortes is the alternative and handles most of the country's cargo. The quote separates ocean freight, routing surcharges, berth and equipment charges, terminal handling, customs, tax and delivery. Get a rate for Puerto Castilla
    • San LorenzoSea port, Gulf of FonsecaCholuteca and southern Honduras
How cargo reaches San Lorenzo San Lorenzo is Honduras’s principal Pacific side port, on the Gulf of Fonseca. Most pages on this lane never mention it. We could not verify current Dubai container service to it, and we have not published a code because we could not verify one, but for a delivery in Choluteca or the south it is worth asking about rather than assuming everything must come through the Caribbean. How cargo reaches Ramon Villeda Morales International Airport Air freight from Dubai to Ramon Villeda Morales connects through a European or American hub, subject to commodity, space, screening and local cargo handling approval. It serves San Pedro Sula, the country's industrial centre, and sits close to Puerto Cortes. Times vary from flight to flight, so we confirm the days when we quote. Palmerola is the alternative for the capital. The quote separates uplift, connection, screening, terminal, customs, tax and final delivery. Get a rate for Ramon Villeda Morales International Airport

How cargo reaches Palmerola International Airport Air freight from Dubai to Palmerola connects through a European or American hub, subject to commodity, space, screening and local cargo handling approval. It replaced the old Tegucigalpa airport, whose short runway and difficult approach limited what could land, so larger aircraft now come here. Times vary from flight to flight, so we confirm the days when we quote. San Pedro Sula is the alternative. The quote separates uplift, connection, screening, terminal, customs, tax and final delivery. Get a rate for Palmerola International Airport

Before you ship

Import rules
for Honduras.

Honduras does not have one universal pre-shipment reference that every import needs, so ordinary commercial cargo moves on a normal customs declaration. Regulated goods are the exception: agricultural and food products can need a permit from the agricultural health service, and health regulated products can need registration or approval from the health regulator, both arranged before the cargo ships. The rule that decides whether a shipment happens at all, though, concerns vehicles. Ordinary import guidance prohibits motor vehicles over ten years old, and passenger buses over thirteen. Right hand drive vehicles and specified rebuilt or unsafe titles are also restricted. There is a separate nationalisation measure that has operated into 2026 covering older vehicles, and it is not the ordinary import rule, so do not plan around it without asking us first.

Documentation

Documents you need
for Honduras.

These 10 cover most shipments to Honduras. The exact list depends on the commodity and its HS code, so send us both and we confirm what applies before the cargo is booked.

  • 01Invoice showing what you paid for the goods
  • 02Packing list showing what is inside
  • 03Certificate of origin showing where the goods were made
  • 04Bill of lading or air waybill, which is the shipping ticket
  • 05Dubai export paper, which we do for you
  • 06Honduran customs import declaration
  • 07Import permit, where the commodity requires one
  • 08Agricultural health service sanitary or plant health permit, where it applies
  • 09Health regulator registration or approval, for regulated products
  • 10Vehicle title and customs documents, on a vehicle import

Get the paperwork right in Dubai and clearance at destination is routine. Fixing a document after arrival is slow, and storage accrues the whole time it takes.

Questions

Cargo to Honduras
questions, answered.

The 16 we are asked most on the Dubai to Honduras route. If yours is not here, send it with the commodity and we will answer it directly.

Do you offer movers and packers for a house move from Dubai to Honduras?

Yes. Our movers and packers do the packing, wrapping and listing in Dubai, then we ship your furniture and household goods in a full container, or share one if you have less to send. The item by item list matters, because customs clear personal effects against it. Fuel, gas cylinders, paint, aerosols and loose batteries cannot travel, and we give you the full list before packing day.

Can you ship my car from Dubai to Honduras?

Yes. The car goes inside a container, sealed and protected, and we handle the export paperwork in Dubai. Honduras sets its own rules on vehicle age, specification and approval, and duty on a vehicle is worked out differently from general cargo, so tell us the make, model and year first and we will confirm what applies before you commit.

Can you ship a used car from Dubai to Honduras?

Only if it is ten years old or less. Ordinary import guidance prohibits motor vehicles over ten years old, and passenger buses over thirteen. Right hand drive vehicles and specified rebuilt or unsafe titles are also restricted. There is a separate vehicle nationalisation measure that has operated into 2026 covering older vehicles, which is not the ordinary rule, so do not plan around it without asking. Send us the make, model, year and title status.

How long does shipping from Dubai to Honduras take?

Sea freight to Honduras takes about 41 days through Puerto Cortes, and that figure already includes handling and the inland leg rather than stopping at the quay. Air freight takes around 7 to 8 days because it connects rather than flying direct. We give you a date in writing when we quote.

How much does shipping from Dubai to Honduras cost?

It depends on what you send, how big it is, and where in Honduras it is going. We do not publish prices because every shipment is different. Sea freight to Honduras is priced per container when you fill one, and per cubic metre when you share one. Air freight to Honduras is priced on weight or size, whichever is greater. Send us the details and we send you a price in writing, usually the same day.

Which cities in Honduras do you deliver to?

All of them. Tegucigalpa, San Pedro Sula, Choloma, La Ceiba, El Progreso, Choluteca, Comayagua, Puerto Cortes, Danli, Siguatepeque, Juticalpa, Tela, Santa Rosa de Copan, Villanueva, Tocoa and San Lorenzo. Just give us the address and we bring it to the door.

Which ports in Honduras do you ship to?

Puerto Cortes on the Caribbean is the principal container gateway and handles almost everything. Puerto Castilla serves Trujillo and the north east. San Lorenzo on the Gulf of Fonseca is the Pacific side option for Choluteca and the south, which most pages never mention. For air cargo we fly into San Pedro Sula or Palmerola.

Does Honduras have a Pacific port?

Yes, San Lorenzo on the Gulf of Fonseca, and it is worth knowing about. We could not verify current Dubai container service to it, so we check what is running rather than assuming. For a delivery in Choluteca or the south it can save the road journey down from the Caribbean coast.

Do I need an import permit before shipping?

Not a universal one. Honduras has no single pre-shipment reference for every import. Agricultural and food products can need a permit from the agricultural health service, and health regulated products can need registration or approval from the health regulator, both arranged before the cargo ships. Send us the HS code and we will check.

Should I fly into San Pedro Sula or Palmerola?

San Pedro Sula for the industrial north, which is where most commercial air freight goes. Palmerola for Tegucigalpa and the capital region. Tell us the delivery town and we will pick.

Do you deliver door to door?

Yes. We handle freight forwarding to Honduras door to door. We collect the goods in Dubai, move them, clear them through customs, and bring them to your address. You deal with one company for the whole journey.

Can I send a small shipment, or do I need a full container?

You can send as little as one box or one pallet. We put small shipments from different customers into one shared container. This is called LCL, or less than container load. Your goods load at Jebel Ali and come into Puerto Cortes. When you have more goods, you move up to your own full container, which is called FCL. We will tell you which one is cheaper.

Do you handle customs clearance in Honduras?

Yes, at both ends. We handle customs clearance in Dubai and customs clearance in Honduras. You do not need to find your own clearing agent.

Can you collect the goods from my supplier in Dubai?

Yes. We collect anywhere in Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and the rest of the UAE. We can also hold your goods in warehousing and storage in Dubai until you are ready to ship. That helps when you are buying from several suppliers and want everything to travel to Puerto Cortes in one container.

Can you ship machinery and heavy equipment to Honduras?

Yes. We move project cargo to Honduras as well. Big, heavy items go in open top or flat rack containers, or loose on the ship into Puerto Cortes. Send us the size and weight and the delivery town and we will work out the best way to move it.

Can you move my household goods to Honduras?

Yes. We move full house moves and part loads to Honduras, including Tegucigalpa, San Pedro Sula and La Ceiba. We pack, collect, move and deliver, and we handle the customs clearance so your things are not waiting on paperwork. We could not verify a returning national concession, so tell us your situation and we will check rather than promise.
