Shipping from Dubai
to Palau.

We ship from Dubai and from anywhere in the UAE to Palau by sea and by air. We carry business and personal cargo. The rule that shapes this lane is at the clearance end: in Palau only a registered customs user or a licensed broker can lodge the import declaration, so your buyer cannot simply file it themselves.

Overview

Sea and air freight
to Palau.

Shipping from Dubai to Palau takes about 7 days by air on current route planning, using connecting services. We could not verify a current pure ocean transit from Dubai to Koror, so sea is quoted from the routing we can actually book rather than from a published range. Koror is the principal commercial gateway and serves Koror, Babeldaob and national distribution. Air cargo flies into Roman Tmetuchl International. Palau Customs uses ASYCUDAWorld and a Single Administrative Document, and only a registered ASYCUDA user or a licensed customs broker can lodge it. Restricted goods need the relevant licence or biosecurity permit. We deliver across Koror and Babeldaob, including Ngerulmud, Melekeok and Airai.

Ports and gateways

Sea ports and airports
we ship to from Dubai.

Every bill of lading carries two ports: where the cargo loads, and where it discharges. We load at Jebel Ali or another UAE port. Sea cargo to Palau discharges at Koror, the only sea port in the country, so there is no discharge port to choose. What is worth choosing is the mode, and where the cargo clears.

  1. POLPort of loading

We collect anywhere in the UAE, free zones included, and load at whichever of these eight suits the cargo.

  2. PODPort of discharge

The right one is whichever leaves the shortest inland leg to your delivery address. On a long lane that leg is a shipment in its own right, so it is planned rather than assumed.

It is Palau's only international airport and hold capacity is small. Times vary from flight to flight, so we confirm the days when we quote. Koror by sea is the alternative for volume. The quote separates uplift, connection, screening, terminal, customs, biosecurity and final delivery charges. Get a rate for Roman Tmetuchl International Airport

Before you ship

Import rules
for Palau.

Palau Customs runs on ASYCUDAWorld, and imports are declared on a Single Administrative Document. The rule that catches people is who may file it: only a registered ASYCUDA user or a licensed customs broker can lodge the declaration. A buyer who is not registered cannot simply submit their own paperwork, however straightforward the shipment is, so either the registration has to exist before the cargo arrives or a licensed broker has to be appointed. The importer also needs their tax identification details for the declaration. On top of that, restricted goods need the relevant licence and biosecurity-controlled goods need an import permit, both of which are worth settling before shipment. We check who is going to file before we book.

Documentation

Documents you need
for Palau.

These 10 cover most shipments to Palau. The exact list depends on the commodity and its HS code, so send us both and we confirm what applies before the cargo is booked.

  • 01Invoice showing what you paid for the goods
  • 02Packing list showing what is inside
  • 03Certificate of origin showing where the goods were made
  • 04Bill of lading or air waybill, which is the shipping ticket
  • 05Dubai export paper, which we do for you
  • 06ASYCUDAWorld Single Administrative Document
  • 07Importer tax identification information
  • 08Manifest and transport documents
  • 09Biosecurity import permit where required
  • 10Restricted-goods licence where applicable

Get the paperwork right in Dubai and clearance at destination is routine. Fixing a document after arrival is slow, and storage accrues the whole time it takes.

Questions

Cargo to Palau
questions, answered.

The 15 we are asked most on the Dubai to Palau route. If yours is not here, send it with the commodity and we will answer it directly.

Do you offer movers and packers for a house move from Dubai to Palau?

Yes. Our movers and packers do the packing, wrapping and listing in Dubai, then we ship your furniture and household goods in a full container, or share one if you have less to send. The item by item list matters, because customs clear personal effects against it. Fuel, gas cylinders, paint, aerosols and loose batteries cannot travel, and we give you the full list before packing day.

How long does shipping from Dubai to Palau take?

Air freight is about 7 days on current route planning, using connecting services. For sea we could not verify a current pure ocean transit from Dubai to Koror, so we quote the routing we can actually book rather than publishing a range we cannot stand behind. If another page gives you a confident sea figure here, it is worth asking where it came from.

Who can lodge the customs entry in Palau?

Only a registered ASYCUDA user or a licensed customs broker. Palau Customs runs on ASYCUDAWorld with a Single Administrative Document, and an unregistered buyer cannot file their own declaration however straightforward the shipment is. Either the registration exists before the cargo arrives or a licensed broker is appointed. We check which before booking.

My buyer has never imported before. What do they need?

They need either ASYCUDA registration or a licensed customs broker acting for them, plus their tax identification details for the declaration. Getting that in place while the cargo is still in Dubai costs nothing. Discovering it at Koror costs storage.

Do I need an import permit for Palau?

It depends on the goods. Restricted goods need the relevant licence, and biosecurity-controlled goods need an import permit, both best settled before shipment. Ordinary commercial cargo goes on the Single Administrative Document. Send us the product and we will confirm.

How much does shipping from Dubai to Palau cost?

It depends on what you send, how big it is, and how it travels. We do not publish prices because every shipment is different. Sea freight is priced per container when you fill one, and per cubic metre when you share one. Air freight is priced on weight or size, whichever is greater. Where a licensed broker has to file, we include that rather than leaving it as a surprise. Send us the details.

Which places in Palau do you deliver to?

Koror, Ngerulmud, Melekeok, Airai, Ngaraard, Ngchesar, Ngarchelong, Aimeliik and Ngatpang, plus Peleliu and Angaur by domestic leg. Koror and Babeldaob are road connected, so most deliveries are a short leg from the port.

Is air freight the better option to Palau?

It carries more of the urgent traffic here than on most lanes, partly because it is the leg with a verified transit at about 7 days. For anything time sensitive or high value it is worth pricing properly rather than assuming sea is automatically cheaper once the schedule is counted.

Can you ship a car from Dubai to Palau?

We can move the vehicle. Palau’s electronic single window framework includes vehicle import information exchange, but we could not verify a current used-vehicle age or eligibility rule, so we confirm the position before you buy rather than guessing. Send us the make, model, year and chassis number.

Do you deliver door to door?

Yes. We handle freight forwarding to Palau door to door. We collect the goods in Dubai, move them, work with the registered filer or licensed broker on clearance at Koror, and bring the goods to your address.

Can I send a small shipment, or do I need a full container?

You can send as little as one box or one pallet. We put small shipments from different customers into one shared container. This is called LCL, or less than container load. Your goods come into Koror. When you have more goods, you move up to your own full container, which is called FCL. We will tell you which one is cheaper.

Do you handle customs clearance in Palau?

Yes. We do customs clearance in Dubai, and in Palau we work with a registered ASYCUDA user or a licensed customs broker, because those are the only parties permitted to lodge the declaration. You do not need to arrange that yourself.

Can you collect the goods from my supplier in Dubai?

Yes. We collect anywhere in Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and the rest of the UAE. We can also hold your goods in warehousing and storage in Dubai until you are ready to ship, which is genuinely useful while customs registration is being sorted at the other end.

Do you deliver to Peleliu and Angaur?

Yes, by domestic leg from Koror. Those sailings set the delivery date rather than our arrival, so we confirm the schedule instead of estimating it. The rest of the country, including Babeldaob, is reached by road from Koror.

Can you move my household goods to Palau?

Yes. We move full house moves and part loads. We could not verify a household-goods concession for Palau, so we will not promise you relief we have not checked. Tell us your situation and we will confirm what applies, including who will need to file the entry.
