Shipping from Dubai
to Peru.
We ship from Dubai and from anywhere in the UAE to Peru by sea and by air. We carry business and personal cargo. Callao takes most of it, but Paita in the north and Matarani in the south are real alternatives worth knowing. Peru also has the tightest used vehicle rule in the region, and it is worth reading before you buy a car.
Overview
Sea and air freight
to Peru.
Shipping from Dubai to Peru takes about 45 to 56 days by sea, and 2 to 5 days by air. A current Dubai to Lima container route is around 45 days and 5 hours, while other current Jebel Ali to Callao schedule data shows routes around 56 days, so the carrier makes a real difference here. Callao is the principal container gateway and handles most national distribution. Paita serves Piura and the north, including refrigerated and agricultural cargo, and Matarani serves Arequipa and the south. Air cargo flies into Jorge Chavez at Lima. If a vehicle is involved, Peru limits used vehicles to no more than two years from the model year and prohibits used diesel in several categories. We deliver everywhere, including Lima, Arequipa, Trujillo, Chiclayo, Piura, Cusco and Iquitos. Navo Shipping handles the sea freight, air freight and customs clearance on the Dubai to Peru route, door to door.

Ports and gateways
Sea ports and airports
we ship to from Dubai.
Every bill of lading carries two ports: where the cargo loads, and where it discharges. We load at Jebel Ali or another UAE port. Peru has three sea ports we use and one airport. They suit different cargo and different inland legs, so the loading port and the discharge port are worth choosing separately.
POLPort of loading
We collect anywhere in the UAE, free zones included, and load at whichever of these eight suits the cargo.

PODPort of discharge
The right one is whichever leaves the shortest inland leg to your delivery address. On a long lane that leg is a shipment in its own right, so it is planned rather than assumed.

How cargo reaches Port of Callao
Shipping from Dubai to Callao is the main route into Peru. Current routing runs anywhere from about 45 days to about 56 depending on which international relay the carrier uses, and that eleven day spread is the single biggest variable on this lane. Callao is the principal container gateway and sits beside Lima, so the delivery leg into the capital is short. Sea freight is priced per container on a full load and per cubic metre on a shared one. How cargo reaches Port of Paita
Shipping from Dubai to Paita is relayed through an Asian hub across the Pacific, or through the Panama Canal. It serves Piura and the northern agricultural belt, and saves the long road run up from Lima. Times vary from ship to ship, so we confirm the days when we quote. Callao is the alternative and carries the wider service network. The quote separates ocean freight, transshipment, carrier surcharges, terminal handling, customs, tax and final delivery. How cargo reaches Port of Matarani
Shipping from Dubai to Matarani is relayed through an Asian hub across the Pacific, or through the Panama Canal. It serves Arequipa and the southern mining region, and is also a road corridor into Bolivia. Times vary from ship to ship, so we confirm the days when we quote. Callao is the alternative for the centre of the country. The quote separates ocean freight, transshipment, terminal handling, customs, tax and final delivery. How cargo reaches Jorge Chavez International Airport
Air freight from Dubai to Jorge Chavez connects through a European or American hub, subject to commodity, space, screening and local cargo handling approval. It is Peru's only significant air cargo gateway, so everything clears here and moves on by road. Times vary from flight to flight, so we confirm the days when we quote. Callao by sea is the alternative for volume, and sits beside the airport. The quote separates uplift, connection, screening, terminal, customs, tax and final delivery. Before you ship
Import rules
for Peru.
Peru asks for two things and both matter before the cargo moves. A regular commercial importer normally needs an active RUC, the taxpayer registration, and has to be correctly identified in the customs declaration. Restricted goods then need the authorisation or control document of the responsible sector, usually handled through the single window. That is the ordinary part. The part that decides whether a shipment happens at all is the vehicle rule, and Peru’s is the strictest in the region. A used vehicle subject to the general quality rules must be no more than two years old from the model year. On top of that Peru applies mileage, steering, emissions and accident history conditions, and used diesel vehicles in several passenger and goods categories are prohibited outright with only specific exceptions. Ask us before you buy a car, not before you ship one.

Documentation
Documents you need
for Peru.

- 01Invoice showing what you paid for the goods
- 02Packing list showing what is inside
- 03Certificate of origin showing where the goods were made
- 04Bill of lading or air waybill, which is the shipping ticket

Questions
Cargo to Peru
questions, answered.
The 16 we are asked most on the Dubai to Peru route. If yours is not here, send it with the commodity and we will answer it directly.
Do you offer movers and packers for a house move from Dubai to Peru?
Yes. Our movers and packers do the packing, wrapping and listing, then we ship your furniture and household goods in a full container, or share one if you have less to send. The item by item list matters, because customs clear personal effects against it. Fuel, gas cylinders, paint, aerosols and loose batteries cannot travel, and we give you the full list before packing day.
Can you ship a used car from Dubai to Peru?
Only a very recent one, so check before you buy. A used vehicle subject to Peru’s general quality rules must be no more than two years old from the model year. Mileage, steering, emissions and accident history conditions apply as well, and used diesel vehicles in several passenger and goods categories are prohibited outright with only specific exceptions. Send us the make, model, year, fuel type and mileage and we will tell you where you stand before you commit.
How long does shipping from Dubai to Peru take?
Sea freight to Peru takes about 45 to 56 days, and air freight to Peru takes 2 to 5 days. A current Dubai to Lima container route is around 45 days and 5 hours, while other current schedule data into Callao shows routes around 56 days. Which relay the carrier uses is worth about eleven days, so we check yours before quoting. We give you a date in writing.
How much does shipping from Dubai to Peru cost?
It depends on what you send, how big it is, and where in Peru it is going. We do not publish prices because every shipment is different. Sea freight to Peru is priced per container when you fill one, and per cubic metre when you share one. Air freight to Peru is priced on weight or size, whichever is greater. Send us the details and we send you a price in writing, usually the same day.
Which cities in Peru do you deliver to?
All of them. Lima, Arequipa, Trujillo, Chiclayo, Piura, Cusco, Huancayo, Iquitos, Chimbote, Tacna, Pucallpa, Juliaca, Ica, Cajamarca, Sullana and Ayacucho. Iquitos in the Amazon has no road connection to the rest of the country, so it needs a river or air leg, which we quote separately.
Which ports in Peru do you ship to?
Callao is the principal container gateway and sits beside Lima. Paita serves Piura and the north, including refrigerated and agricultural cargo. Matarani serves Arequipa and the south, including industrial and mining cargo. For air cargo we fly into Jorge Chavez at Lima.
Should my cargo go to Callao, Paita or Matarani?
Callao for Lima and the centre, which is most cargo. Paita if the delivery is in Piura or the north, because it saves hundreds of kilometres of road. Matarani for Arequipa, Tacna and the southern mining regions. Peru is long, so landing at the right end matters. Tell us the delivery city and we will pick.
What is a RUC and does my buyer need one?
It is Peru’s taxpayer registration. A regular commercial importer normally needs an active RUC and has to be correctly identified in the customs declaration. It sits with your buyer rather than the cargo, so we confirm it before you book.
Do you deliver door to door?
Yes. We handle freight forwarding to Peru door to door. We collect the goods in Dubai, move them, clear them through customs, and bring them to your address. You deal with one company for the whole journey.
Can I send a small shipment, or do I need a full container?
You can send as little as one box or one pallet. We put small shipments from different customers into one shared container. This is called LCL, or less than container load. Your goods load at Jebel Ali and come into Callao. When you have more goods, you move up to your own full container, which is called FCL. On a lane this long we will tell you honestly which is better.
Does my product need a permit?
It might. Restricted goods need the authorisation or control document of the responsible sector, usually handled through the single window, and that should be obtained before shipment where prior approval applies. Most ordinary goods need nothing beyond the customs declaration. Send us the HS code and we will check.
Do you handle customs clearance in Peru?
Yes, at both ends. We handle customs clearance in Dubai and customs clearance in Peru. You do not need to find your own clearing agent.
Can you collect the goods from my supplier in Dubai?
Yes. We collect anywhere in Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and the rest of the UAE. We can also hold your goods in warehousing and storage in Dubai until you are ready to ship. On a lane this long, consolidating properly before anything sails is worth the effort.
Can you ship mining and heavy equipment to Peru?
Yes. We move project cargo to Peru as well, and mining equipment for the south is a good part of it. Matarani is set up for industrial and bulk cargo. Big, heavy items go in open top or flat rack containers, or loose on the ship. Send us the size and weight and the delivery point.
Can you deliver to Iquitos and the Amazon?
Yes, with a separate leg. Iquitos has no road connection to the rest of Peru, so cargo goes on by river or by air after it clears. That leg has its own schedule and cost and we quote it properly rather than folding it into the sea figure.
I am moving to Peru. Do I get relief on my belongings?
Peru has a special customs regime for household goods, called menaje de casa, for qualifying people moving. It is a simplified relief regime with conditions rather than a general promise of tax free entry, so we would rather set out what actually applies to you. Tell us your situation and we will confirm.
