Container transport
across the UAE.

Tell us what needs moving and where it is going. We send the right trailer, sort out everything the port or free zone gate asks for, and agree the delivery date with you before the truck sets off.

In short

Navo Shipping moves containers and full trailer loads anywhere inside the UAE. We collect from Jebel Ali, Khalifa Port and the other ports, and deliver to warehouses, shops and sites in all seven emirates. We also move cargo between free zones and the mainland. We pick the trailer that fits the load, handle the gate passes and customs paperwork, and plan the drive around truck ban hours.

What is included

UAE Land Transport,
end to end.

Everything below sits inside the standard scope and is priced in the quote. Anything outside it is named separately up front, rather than arriving afterwards as a surcharge.

  • Container delivery from Jebel Ali, Khalifa Port and the other UAE ports
  • Container chassis and side loader trailers
  • Flatbed, curtain-side, box and refrigerated (reefer) trailers
  • Lowbed trailers for heavy machinery
  • Free zone to mainland and bonded moves
  • Gate passes and customs paperwork
  • Empty container return to the depot
  • Delivery in all seven emirates

Container transport from Jebel Ali and the other UAE ports

When your container lands, we collect it from the terminal and bring it to your door. A container chassis is the usual trailer: the box stays on the truck while you unload it. A side loader lifts the box onto the ground, so you can unload at your own pace. When it is empty, we take it back to the depot the shipping line names, before the free days run out. Our guide to the types of trailers shows how each one works.

  • Jebel Ali Port, Dubai
  • Khalifa Port, Abu Dhabi
  • Port Khalid, Sharjah
  • Khor Fakkan, on the east coast
  • Port of Fujairah

Full trailer loads between the emirates

A full trailer load means one trailer for your cargo only. It loads at your door and drives straight to the delivery address, with no stops for anyone else. We match the trailer to the load: a flatbed for steel and pipes, a curtain-side or closed box for pallets, and a reefer, the trailer with its own fridge, for food and medicine. It suits factory stock going to a warehouse, building materials going to a site, and goods moving between branches in different emirates.

Free zone, mainland and bonded moves

Goods moving out of a free zone such as JAFZA, KIZAD, Hamriyah or SAIF Zone, whether to the mainland, to a port for export or to another free zone, need the right customs paperwork for that move. Our customs clearance team prepares and files it before the truck reaches the gate, and confirms with you what applies to your goods, including any duty.

Heavy machinery and oversized loads

Excavators, generators, cranes and other heavy machines travel on a lowbed trailer, which sits low to the road so tall machines can pass under bridges. Some loads are too wide, too long or too heavy for normal limits. These need a special permit before they move. We plan those moves as project cargo, with the route and permits agreed first.

Truck ban hours in Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi

Heavy trucks are kept off some main roads at set times. Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi each set their own hours, and they change often. Our page on truck ban timings in the UAE links to the official notices for each emirate. We plan your collection and delivery around the rules in force at the time.

Container and trailer transport in all seven emirates

We cover the whole country, including the free zones and industrial areas where most cargo starts and ends.

  • Dubai: Jebel Ali, JAFZA, Dubai South, Dubai Investments Park, Al Quoz and Ras Al Khor
  • Abu Dhabi: Mussafah, KIZAD, ICAD, Al Ain and Ruwais
  • Sharjah: the industrial areas, Hamriyah, SAIF Zone and Khor Fakkan
  • Ajman, Umm Al Quwain and Ras Al Khaimah, including RAKEZ
  • Fujairah, Dibba and the east coast

What we need to quote your UAE transport

Send us what the cargo is, its weight and size, or the container number and size. Add the collection and delivery addresses, how the goods will be loaded and unloaded at each end, and the date you need. If the load is going on across the border, our GCC land transport team quotes the whole run in one go. Road rules can change, so we confirm the ones that apply to your move when we quote.

FAQs

UAE Land Transport,
answered.

What the Dubai desk is asked most about this service. If your question is not here, send it with the commodity and the route and we answer it directly.

01How do I avoid demurrage on a container at Jebel Ali?

Have the paperwork ready before the ship arrives, so the container can leave the port inside its free time. Demurrage is the daily charge for a full container left in the port too long. It usually builds up while a customs declaration or a delivery order is still pending. We prepare both before arrival and book the truck for the release date.

02Can you bring an empty container to my factory for loading?

Yes. We collect an empty container from the depot, deliver it to your factory or warehouse, and take it to the port once you have loaded it. We time it around the cut-off, the last moment the port accepts boxes for that ship. Your container shipping booking and the road legs are planned together.

03Is Jebel Ali or Khalifa Port better for a delivery in Abu Dhabi?

It depends on the delivery address. For Mussafah, KIZAD or Abu Dhabi city, a container landing at Khalifa Port has a much shorter road trip than one landing at Jebel Ali. For Dubai and the northern emirates, Jebel Ali is usually closer. We look at the address before the booking, because the road leg can cost more than the difference in sea freight.

04What paperwork releases a container from the port?

A delivery order from the shipping line, and customs clearance for the goods. We arrange both, so the truck is not turned away at the gate.

05Do I need to apply for a port or free zone gate pass?

No. We arrange the gate access for the truck and driver we send, so there is nothing for you to apply for.

06Where does the empty container go after I unload it?

Back to the empty depot the shipping line tells us to use, which is not always near the port it came from. We check it before we quote, so the return trip is in the price and not a surprise.

07How is UAE land transport priced?

Per trip, set by the trailer type and the route. A side loader, lowbed or reefer usually costs more than a flatbed or curtain-side. The usual extras are waiting time, out-of-hours delivery, permits for oversized loads and the empty container return. We show each one on the quote. For a sense of scale, our trailer guide lists published estimates from other UAE companies.

08Do you offer pickup trucks for small loads?

No. Inside the UAE we run full trailers and containers only. If your goods are small and going abroad, we can usually send them as a shared load by sea, air or road instead. Tell us what you have and we will suggest the best way.

09Who unloads the container at my warehouse?

Usually your own team, with a forklift or by hand. On a chassis they unload while the truck waits, and the waiting time allowed is set in the quote. With a side loader the box is left on the ground for you. If you need labour or a forklift at the site, tell us when you book.

10Can you deliver to a construction site?

Yes. We deliver flatbed and lowbed loads to sites across the UAE. Tell us about the access: the gate size, the ground and any height limits. Then we send a trailer that can get in and out.

11Can you hold my cargo if the site is not ready?

Yes. We can unload the container into our warehouse in Dubai and deliver the goods when the site is ready. Returning the empty early also stops the daily container charges from building up.

12Will I know when the truck is coming?

Yes. We agree the collection and delivery times with you before the truck is booked, and update you when it loads and when it delivers. If a truck ban or a port delay moves the time, we tell you straight away.
