Shipping from Dubai
to Cambodia.

We ship from Dubai and from anywhere in the UAE to Cambodia every week, by sea and by air. Sihanoukville is the deep-sea gateway, but Phnom Penh has its own river port, and for a delivery in the capital that is worth weighing. We ship business and personal cargo, do the paperwork at both ends, and deliver to your address.

Overview

Sea and air freight
to Cambodia.

Shipping from Dubai to Cambodia takes about 24 to 30 days by sea, and 1 to 3 days by air. Ships from Jebel Ali relay through an Asian hub before Sihanoukville, which is the main deep-sea container gateway and the usual route to Phnom Penh by road. There is a second way in: the Phnom Penh Autonomous Port is a river port on the Mekong, connected by barge to ports in Vietnam, so cargo can reach the capital by water instead of by truck. Poipet on the Thai border and Bavet on the Vietnamese border handle regional overland traffic. Air cargo flies into Techo International, which replaced the old Phnom Penh airport in September 2025, or Siem Reap Angkor for the north west. We deliver everywhere, including Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, Battambang, Kampong Cham, Kampot and Takeo. Navo Shipping handles the sea freight, air freight and customs clearance on the Dubai to Cambodia route, door to door. Tell us what you are sending and where it is going, and we will tell you which way is cheaper.

Ports and gateways

Sea ports and airports
we ship to from Dubai.

Every bill of lading carries two ports: where the cargo loads, and where it discharges. We load at Jebel Ali or another UAE port. Sea cargo to Cambodia discharges at Sihanoukville Autonomous Port, the only sea port in the country, so there is no discharge port to choose. What is worth choosing is the mode, and where the cargo clears.

The right one is whichever leaves the shortest inland leg to your delivery address. On a long lane that leg is a shipment in its own right, so it is planned rather than assumed.

    • Sihanoukville Autonomous PortKHKOSSea port, Gulf of ThailandSihanoukville, Phnom Penh and container distribution nationally
How cargo reaches Sihanoukville Autonomous Port Shipping from Dubai to Sihanoukville relays through an Asian hub rather than sailing direct, which is where most of the 24 to 30 day range comes from. It is Cambodia’s only deep-sea container gateway and handles the great majority of imports. From here cargo goes on to Phnom Penh by road. Sea freight is priced per container on a full load and per cubic metre on a shared one. Get a rate for Sihanoukville Autonomous Port
    • Phnom Penh Autonomous PortKHPNHRiver port, Mekong systemPhnom Penh and central Cambodia
How cargo reaches Phnom Penh Autonomous Port Shipping from Dubai to Phnom Penh arrives at a regional hub, then transfers to a barge that sails up the Mekong to the city. That river leg limits container size and sets the timing, so we confirm the days when we quote. Sihanoukville is the alternative for larger consignments or anything the river cannot take. The quote separates ocean freight, transshipment, the river leg, terminal handling, customs and final delivery charges. Get a rate for Phnom Penh Autonomous Port

How cargo reaches Poipet Shipping from Dubai to Poipet enters through Laem Chabang, then continues under a confirmed customs transit by road across Thailand to the crossing. Border and queue times vary, so we confirm the days when we quote. Bavet is the alternative when the Vietnam corridor suits the delivery better. The quote separates ocean freight, gateway handling, transit bond, trucking, permits, border charges, waiting time and final delivery. Get a rate for Poipet

How cargo reaches Bavet Shipping from Dubai to Bavet enters through Cai Mep, then continues under a confirmed customs transit by road across Vietnam to the crossing. It is the shorter run to Phnom Penh of the two land routes. Border and queue times vary, so we confirm the days when we quote. Poipet is the alternative from Thailand. The quote separates ocean freight, gateway handling, transit bond, trucking, permits, border charges, waiting time and final delivery. Get a rate for Bavet

How cargo reaches Techo International Airport Techo International is the new Phnom Penh gateway and took over commercial operations from the old airport in September 2025. Air freight from Dubai is 1 to 3 days depending on space and whether a regional connection is needed. If you have been quoted against the old airport code, the paperwork needs updating. How cargo reaches Siem Reap Angkor International Airport Air freight from Dubai to Siem Reap Angkor International connects through a regional hub, subject to commodity, space, screening and local cargo handling approval. The airport is new and built mainly for passengers, so cargo capacity is limited and acceptance is checked before booking. Times vary from flight to flight, so we confirm the days when we quote. Techo International is the alternative for anything large. The quote separates uplift, connection, screening, terminal, customs and final delivery charges. Before you ship

Import rules
for Cambodia.

Cambodia does not ask for one number before the ship leaves Dubai, so ordinary cargo is straightforward. Imports are declared to the General Department of Customs and Excise at the destination. What decides the shipment is the commodity: Cambodia keeps prohibited and restricted lists, and anything on the restricted list needs a permit, a licence or an approval from the ministry responsible for it. Your buyer applies for that in Cambodia. One rule catches people out often enough to be worth naming here: right-hand-drive vehicles are prohibited outright, so a car has to be left-hand drive. Most ordinary goods need nothing beyond the usual paperwork. Tell us what you are sending and the HS code and we will check both lists before you book.

Documentation

Documents you need
for Cambodia.

These 9 cover most shipments to Cambodia. The exact list depends on the commodity and its HS code, so send us both and we confirm what applies before the cargo is booked.

  • 01Invoice showing what you paid for the goods
  • 02Packing list showing what is inside
  • 03Certificate of origin showing where the goods were made
  • 04Bill of lading or air waybill, which is the shipping ticket
  • 05Dubai export paper, which we do for you
  • 06Cambodian customs declaration at the destination
  • 07Import permit or licence, for goods on the restricted list
  • 08Insurance document, where the terms of sale require one
  • 09Inspection report, where the goods need one

Get the paperwork right in Dubai and clearance at destination is routine. Fixing a document after arrival is slow, and storage accrues the whole time it takes.

Questions

Cargo to Cambodia
questions, answered.

The 16 we are asked most on the Dubai to Cambodia route. If yours is not here, send it with the commodity and we will answer it directly.

Do you offer movers and packers for a house move from Dubai to Cambodia?

Yes. Our movers and packers do the packing, wrapping and listing in Dubai, then we ship your furniture and household goods in a full container, or share one if you have less to send. The item by item list matters, because customs clear personal effects against it. Fuel, gas cylinders, paint, aerosols and loose batteries cannot travel, and we give you the full list before packing day.

How long does shipping from Dubai to Cambodia take?

Sea freight to Cambodia takes about 24 to 30 days, and air freight to Cambodia takes 1 to 3 days. Ships relay at an Asian hub before Sihanoukville rather than sailing direct, which is where most of that time goes. We give you a date in writing when we quote.

How much does shipping from Dubai to Cambodia cost?

It depends on what you send, how big it is, and where in Cambodia it is going. We do not publish prices because every shipment is different. Sea freight to Cambodia is priced per container when you fill one, and per cubic metre when you share one. Air freight to Cambodia is priced on weight or size, whichever is greater. Send us the details and we send you a price in writing, usually the same day.

Which cities in Cambodia do you deliver to?

All of them. Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, Battambang, Poipet, Kampong Cham, Bavet, Kampong Speu, Kampong Chhnang, Pursat, Kampot, Takeo, Svay Rieng, Kratie, Stung Treng and Banlung. Just give us the address and we bring it to the door.

Which ports in Cambodia do you ship to?

Sihanoukville is the deep-sea container gateway and handles most imports. Phnom Penh has its own river port on the Mekong, reached by barge from Vietnam. For air cargo we fly into Techo International at Phnom Penh, or Siem Reap Angkor for the north west.

Can my cargo reach Phnom Penh without going through Sihanoukville?

Yes. Phnom Penh Autonomous Port is a river port on the Mekong, linked by container barge to ports in Vietnam. So cargo can come into the capital by water instead of landing at the coast and trucking inland. Which is better depends on the week and the cargo. Tell us what you are sending and we will price both.

Has the Phnom Penh airport changed?

Yes. Techo International took over commercial operations from the old Phnom Penh airport in September 2025. If you have an older quote or paperwork referring to the previous airport, it needs updating. We book against the current gateway.

Do you deliver door to door?

Yes. We handle freight forwarding to Cambodia door to door. We collect the goods in Dubai, move them, clear them through customs, and bring them to your address. You deal with one company for the whole journey.

Can I send a small shipment, or do I need a full container?

You can send as little as one box or one pallet. We put small shipments from different customers into one shared container. This is called LCL, or less than container load. Your goods load at Jebel Ali and come into Sihanoukville. When you have more goods, you move up to your own full container, which is called FCL. We will tell you which one is cheaper.

Can you ship a car from Dubai to Cambodia?

Yes, and there is one rule to get right before you buy. The car must be left-hand drive. Right-hand-drive vehicles are prohibited outright, so a car bought for a right-hand-drive market cannot be brought in. Most cars imported into Cambodia are second hand. We could not confirm any blanket maximum age. Send us the make, model, year and chassis number and we will check.

Do you handle customs clearance in Cambodia?

Yes, at both ends. We handle customs clearance in Dubai and customs clearance in Cambodia. You do not need to find your own clearing agent.

Can you collect the goods from my supplier in Dubai?

Yes. We collect anywhere in Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and the rest of the UAE. We can also hold your goods in warehousing and storage in Dubai until you are ready to ship. That helps when you are buying from several suppliers and want everything to travel to Sihanoukville in one container.

Can you ship machinery and heavy equipment to Cambodia?

Yes. We move project cargo to Cambodia as well. Big, heavy items go in open top or flat rack containers, or loose on the ship. Sihanoukville handles the heavier pieces. Send us the size and weight and we will work out the best way to move it.

Can you move my household goods to Cambodia?

Yes. We move full house moves and part loads to Cambodia, including Phnom Penh, Siem Reap and Sihanoukville. We pack, collect, move and deliver, and we handle the customs clearance so your things are not waiting on paperwork.

Do I pay duty on my household goods?

If you are genuinely changing residence to Cambodia, qualifying household goods and personal effects can be considered for exemption. A motor vehicle is excluded from that treatment and has to be handled separately. Tell us your situation and we will explain what to expect.

Does my product need a permit in Cambodia?

It might. Cambodia keeps prohibited and restricted lists, and anything on the restricted list needs a permit, licence or approval from the ministry responsible for it. Most ordinary goods need nothing extra. Send us the product and the HS code and we will check both lists.
