The item by item list matters, because customs clear personal effects against it. Fuel, gas cylinders, paint, aerosols and loose batteries cannot travel, and we give you the full list before packing day.

Sea freight to Malta takes about 20 to 35 days, and air freight to Malta takes 1 to 4 days. Cargo normally reaches Malta through a Mediterranean connection rather than a direct sailing, and the wait for that onward leg is most of the range. We confirm the live routing and give you a date in writing when we quote.

Malta Freeport at Marsaxlokk. Not Valletta, which is what most pages say. The Freeport is one of the biggest transhipment hubs in the Mediterranean and handles the container traffic. Grand Harbour at Valletta takes roll-on roll-off, ferry, project and conventional cargo instead.

Sea freight to Malta is priced per container when you fill one, and per cubic metre when you share one. Air freight to Malta is priced on weight or size, whichever is greater. Yes. Gozo is reached by a short road leg and the ferry after the goods clear on Malta. It adds very little to the journey. Tell us the town and we will include it in the quote.

It is a free trading number used across the European Union. Whoever imports the goods needs one and no customs operation happens without it. It is quick to get online, and we check it before we load. Malta is inside the EU customs territory despite being an island group, so the same number applies here as anywhere else in the union.

It is the EU safety and security system. A filing called an Entry Summary Declaration has to reach EU customs before your goods arrive. The carrier files it and we supply the data. Cargo transferring at the Freeport is still covered, so the filing follows the first point of entry into the EU rather than the final berth.

Yes. We handle freight forwarding to Malta door to door. We collect the goods in Dubai, move them, clear them through customs, and bring them to your address. You deal with one company for the whole journey.

You can send as little as one box or one pallet. We put small shipments from different customers into one shared container. This is called LCL, or less than container load. Your goods load at Jebel Ali and come into Malta Freeport. When you have more goods, you move up to your own full container, which is called FCL. We will tell you which one is cheaper.

Yes. We do car shipping to Malta, and Grand Harbour handles roll-on roll-off traffic. One step to plan for: Malta changed its used vehicle customs procedure at the end of 2024, but Transport Malta inspection is still required before the vehicle is released. So the car does not clear customs and drive away, and that inspection needs to be in the timeline. Send us the make, model, year and chassis number and we will check.

Yes. We collect anywhere in Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and the rest of the UAE. We can also hold your goods in warehousing and storage in Dubai until you are ready to ship. On a lane where the box waits for a Mediterranean connection anyway, consolidating properly in Dubai first is worth doing.

Yes. We move project cargo to Malta as well. Big, heavy items go in open top or flat rack containers, or loose on the ship, and Grand Harbour handles project and conventional cargo. Send us the size and weight and we will work out the best way to move it.

You may. Used household goods and personal belongings can qualify for transfer of residence relief when you move from outside the EU. Malta normally requires that you lived outside the EU for twelve months and that the belongings were owned and used for at least six months. A qualifying motor vehicle can be included.
