Shipping from Dubai
to Myanmar.
We ship from Dubai and from anywhere in the UAE to Myanmar by sea and by air. This is a lane where the licence matters more than the sailing: many goods need an import licence approved before the cargo is worth booking. We ship business and personal cargo, check the licence first, and deliver to your address.
Overview
Sea and air freight
to Myanmar.
Shipping from Dubai to Myanmar takes about 23 to 31 days by sea, and around 6 to 8 days by air, because air cargo connects through another airport rather than flying direct. Yangon is the principal gateway and sits on the Yangon River. Thilawa, just downstream, takes container and industrial cargo for the Thilawa zone and the wider Yangon region. Sea services from Jebel Ali need a transhipment, and routings through Colombo tend to be quicker than those that transfer twice. Air cargo flies into Yangon International. We deliver everywhere, including Yangon, Mandalay, Nay Pyi Taw, Mawlamyine, Bago, Pathein, Monywa, Meiktila, Taunggyi and Myitkyina. The thing to settle first is the import licence, because many goods need one before they can come in. Navo Shipping handles the sea freight, air freight and customs clearance on the Dubai to Myanmar route, door to door. Tell us the product and the HS code and we will check the licence position before you book.

Ports and gateways
Ports and airports
we ship to from Dubai.
Every bill of lading carries two ports: where the cargo loads, and where it discharges. We load at Jebel Ali or another UAE port. For Myanmar we fly into one airport. The discharge point and the clearance point are decided by different things, so they are worth choosing separately.
POLPort of loading
We collect anywhere in the UAE, free zones included, and load at whichever of these eight suits the cargo.

PODPort of discharge
The right one is whichever leaves the shortest inland leg to your delivery address. On a long lane that leg is a shipment in its own right, so it is planned rather than assumed.

How cargo reaches Port of Yangon
Shipping from Dubai to Yangon always involves a transhipment. Current estimates run from about 23 days on a routing through Colombo to about 31 days where the cargo transfers twice, so which service you take makes a real difference. Yangon is the principal general import gateway. Sea freight is priced per container on a full load and per cubic metre on a shared one. How cargo reaches Thilawa
Shipping from Dubai to Thilawa is arranged only after live sanctions, banking, vessel acceptance and security checks, because those, rather than the sailing, decide whether a shipment can move at all. Times vary from ship to ship, so we confirm the days when we quote. The Port of Yangon is the alternative for smaller vessels further upriver. The quote separates ocean freight, transshipment, compliance checks, terminal handling, customs, security and final delivery. How cargo reaches Yangon International Airport
Yangon International is the main air cargo gateway. Cargo from Dubai arrives on a connecting service rather than a direct flight, so allow around 6 to 8 days rather than the day or two you would expect on a bigger lane. Get a rate for Yangon International Airport

Import rules
for Myanmar.
Myanmar is the one lane in this region where the paperwork genuinely comes before everything else, so we start there. Many goods need an import licence obtained through the country’s online trade system, TradeNet 2.0, and your buyer applies for it through the Department of Trade. Current guidance is that licensing has widened and that approval for a lot of seaborne imports is not automatic, which means an application can take time or be refused. That is why we ask for the HS code before we quote rather than after: booking a container against goods whose licence has not been approved is how cargo ends up sitting. Not every commodity needs the same licence, and some need none. Tell us what you are sending and who is receiving it, and we will check the licence position first.

Documentation
Documents you need
for Myanmar.
These 9 cover most shipments to Myanmar. The exact list depends on the commodity and its HS code, so send us both and we confirm what applies before the cargo is booked.
- 01Invoice showing what you paid for the goods
- 02Packing list showing what is inside
- 03Certificate of origin showing where the goods were made
- 04Bill of lading or air waybill, which is the shipping ticket
- 05Dubai export paper, which we do for you
- 06Myanmar customs import declaration
- 07Import licence or permit obtained through TradeNet 2.0, where the goods need one
- 08Sales contract, where it is required
- 09Product certificate from the responsible authority, where it applies
Get the paperwork right in Dubai and clearance at destination is routine. Fixing a document after arrival is slow, and storage accrues the whole time it takes.

Questions
Cargo to Myanmar
questions, answered.
The 15 we are asked most on the Dubai to Myanmar route. If yours is not here, send it with the commodity and we will answer it directly.
Do you offer movers and packers for a house move from Dubai to Myanmar?
Yes. Our movers and packers do the packing, wrapping and listing in Dubai, then we ship your furniture and household goods in a full container, or share one if you have less to send. The item by item list matters, because customs clear personal effects against it. Fuel, gas cylinders, paint, aerosols and loose batteries cannot travel, and we give you the full list before packing day.
How long does shipping from Dubai to Myanmar take?
Sea freight to Myanmar takes about 23 to 31 days, and air freight to Myanmar takes about 6 to 8 days. Every sea service transhipments on the way, and routings through Colombo sit at the quicker end. Air takes days rather than hours because cargo connects through another airport instead of flying direct. We give you a date in writing when we quote.
How much does shipping from Dubai to Myanmar cost?
It depends on what you send, how big it is, and where in Myanmar it is going. We do not publish prices because every shipment is different. Sea freight to Myanmar is priced per container when you fill one, and per cubic metre when you share one. Air freight to Myanmar is priced on weight or size, whichever is greater. Send us the details and we send you a price in writing, usually the same day.
Do my goods need an import licence?
Quite possibly. Many goods need a licence obtained through Myanmar TradeNet 2.0, and current guidance is that approval for a lot of seaborne imports is not automatic. That means an application can take time or be refused. Send us the product and the HS code and we will check the licence position before you book anything.
Which cities in Myanmar do you deliver to?
All of them. Yangon, Mandalay, Nay Pyi Taw, Mawlamyine, Bago, Pathein, Monywa, Meiktila, Taunggyi, Myitkyina, Sittwe, Dawei, Myeik, Lashio, Hpa-An and Pyay. Just give us the address and we bring it to the door.
Which ports in Myanmar do you ship to?
Yangon is the principal general import gateway. Thilawa, just downstream, handles container and industrial cargo and serves the Thilawa industrial zone. For air cargo we fly into Yangon International.
Why does air freight take a week?
Because there is no direct cargo flight from Dubai. Cargo connects through another airport on the way, which adds handling and waiting time at the transfer point. It is still much faster than sea, but it is not the overnight option you get on the bigger Asian lanes.
Do you deliver door to door?
Yes. We handle freight forwarding to Myanmar door to door. We collect the goods in Dubai, move them, clear them through customs, and bring them to your address. You deal with one company for the whole journey.
Can I send a small shipment, or do I need a full container?
You can send as little as one box or one pallet. We put small shipments from different customers into one shared container. This is called LCL, or less than container load. Your goods load at Jebel Ali and come into Yangon. When you have more goods, you move up to your own full container, which is called FCL. We will tell you which one is cheaper.
Can you ship a car from Dubai to Myanmar?
Ask us first. Vehicles are subject to import licensing in Myanmar, and the rules change often enough that we would rather check your exact case than quote something that has moved on. We could not confirm a current general rule on used vehicle eligibility or model year, so we are not going to state one. Send us the make, model, year and chassis number and we will find out before you commit.
Do you handle customs clearance in Myanmar?
Yes, at both ends. We handle customs clearance in Dubai and customs clearance in Myanmar. You do not need to find your own clearing agent.
Can you collect the goods from my supplier in Dubai?
Yes. We collect anywhere in Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and the rest of the UAE. We can also hold your goods in warehousing and storage in Dubai until you are ready to ship. On this lane that is genuinely useful, because it lets the goods wait in Dubai while the import licence is sorted rather than sitting at the destination.
Can you ship machinery and heavy equipment to Myanmar?
Yes. We move project cargo to Myanmar as well. Big, heavy items go in open top or flat rack containers, or loose on the ship into Thilawa, which handles the larger cargo. Send us the size and weight and we will work out the best way to move it.
Can you move my household goods to Myanmar?
Yes. We move full house moves and part loads to Myanmar, including Yangon, Mandalay and Nay Pyi Taw. We pack, collect, move and deliver, and we handle the customs clearance so your things are not waiting on paperwork. We could not confirm a broad relief scheme for people moving back, so tell us your situation and we will check rather than promise.
Why do you ask for the HS code before quoting?
Because on this lane it decides whether the shipment is possible at all. The HS code determines whether the goods need an import licence, and whether that licence is likely to be approved. Quoting a container against goods that cannot be licensed helps nobody.
