Shipping from Dubai
to Taiwan.

We ship from Dubai and from anywhere in the UAE to Taiwan every week, by sea and by air. Four sea ports cover the island between them, north, centre and south, so the right one is simply whichever is closest to the delivery address. We ship business and personal cargo, do the paperwork at both ends, and deliver to your door.

Overview

Sea and air freight
to Taiwan.

Shipping from Dubai to Taiwan takes about 21 to 24 days by sea, and 1 to 4 days by air. Kaohsiung is the principal container gateway and a published carrier rotation reaches it from Jebel Ali in about 23 days. Taichung serves the centre of the island and current route data puts it at about 21 days. Keelung and the Port of Taipei serve Taipei, New Taipei and the north. Air cargo flies into Taiwan Taoyuan International, which has large dedicated cargo facilities. Taiwan is compact, so once the goods clear the road leg is short wherever they are going. We deliver everywhere, including New Taipei, Taipei, Taoyuan, Taichung, Kaohsiung, Tainan, Hsinchu, Keelung, Changhua, Chiayi, Pingtung and Hualien. Navo Shipping handles the sea freight, air freight and customs clearance on the Dubai to Taiwan route, door to door. Tell us what you are sending and where it is going, and we will tell you which way is cheaper.

Ports and gateways

Sea ports and airports
we ship to from Dubai.

Every bill of lading carries two ports: where the cargo loads, and where it discharges. We load at Jebel Ali or another UAE port. Taiwan has four sea ports we use and one airport. They suit different cargo and different inland legs, so the loading port and the discharge port are worth choosing separately.

  1. POLPort of loading

We collect anywhere in the UAE, free zones included, and load at whichever of these eight suits the cargo.

  2. PODPort of discharge

The right one is whichever leaves the shortest inland leg to your delivery address. On a long lane that leg is a shipment in its own right, so it is planned rather than assumed.

How cargo reaches Port of Kaohsiung Shipping from Dubai to Kaohsiung is the default for Taiwan. A published carrier rotation runs it from Jebel Ali in about 23 days. It is the principal container gateway with the widest choice of sailings, and it serves the whole south of the island. Sea freight is priced per container on a full load and per cubic metre on a shared one. Get a rate for Port of Kaohsiung
    • Port of TaichungTWTXGSea port, Taiwan StraitTaichung, Changhua and central Taiwan
How cargo reaches Port of Taichung Taichung serves the middle of the island and current route data puts container transit from Dubai at about 21 days on some schedules, which makes it the quickest of the four on paper. For a delivery in Taichung or Changhua it also saves the road leg from Kaohsiung or Keelung. Get a rate for Port of Taichung
    • Port of KeelungTWKELSea port, northern TaiwanTaipei, New Taipei, Keelung and northern Taiwan
How cargo reaches Port of Keelung Keelung is the traditional northern gateway and sits close to Taipei. Cargo from Dubai reaches it through Asian carrier networks and the exact transit varies by service. For an address in Taipei or New Taipei it is the shortest road leg of any of the ports. • Port of TaipeiTWTPESea port, north-western TaiwanTaipei, New Taipei and the northern industrial areas
How cargo reaches Port of Taipei Shipping from Dubai to the Port of Taipei can use a confirmed suitable vessel booking, normally relayed through a Southeast Asian hub rather than sailed direct. It was built to take the container traffic Keelung could no longer hold, and serves greater Taipei by road. Times vary from ship to ship, so we confirm the days when we quote. Kaohsiung is the alternative for the south. The quote separates ocean freight, transshipment, carrier surcharges, terminal handling, customs and final delivery charges. Get a rate for Port of Taipei

Before you ship

Import rules
for Taiwan.

Taiwan is one of the easier destinations in the region, and the reason is worth knowing. Most commodities can be imported without a general import licence at all, so there is nothing to arrange before the ship leaves Dubai. What matters is whether your goods sit on Taiwan’s restricted import list. Anything on it needs a permit or an approval from the authority responsible for that product, and that is the part to settle early. The way to find out is the commodity classification, so the HS code is the first thing we ask for. Certain goods also need a certificate of origin or a product inspection certificate. Tell us what you are sending and the HS code, and we will tell you which list it falls on before you book.

Documentation

Documents you need
for Taiwan.

These 8 cover most shipments to Taiwan. The exact list depends on the commodity and its HS code, so send us both and we confirm what applies before the cargo is booked.

  • 01Invoice showing what you paid for the goods
  • 02Packing list showing what is inside
  • 03Certificate of origin showing where the goods were made
  • 04Bill of lading or air waybill, which is the shipping ticket
  • 05Dubai export paper, which we do for you
  • 06Import permit, for goods on the restricted list
  • 07Product inspection or conformity certificate, where the product needs one
  • 08Vehicle details, where you are importing a car

Get the paperwork right in Dubai and clearance at destination is routine. Fixing a document after arrival is slow, and storage accrues the whole time it takes.

Questions

Cargo to Taiwan
questions, answered.

The 16 we are asked most on the Dubai to Taiwan route. If yours is not here, send it with the commodity and we will answer it directly.

Do you offer movers and packers for a house move from Dubai to Taiwan?

Yes. Our movers and packers do the packing, wrapping and listing in Dubai, then we ship your furniture and household goods in a full container, or share one if you have less to send. The item by item list matters, because customs clear personal effects against it. Fuel, gas cylinders, paint, aerosols and loose batteries cannot travel, and we give you the full list before packing day.

How long does shipping from Dubai to Taiwan take?

Sea freight to Taiwan takes about 21 to 24 days, and air freight to Taiwan takes 1 to 4 days. A published rotation reaches Kaohsiung in about 23 days and current data puts Taichung at about 21. The range is narrower than most lanes in the region. We give you a date in writing when we quote.

How much does shipping from Dubai to Taiwan cost?

It depends on what you send, how big it is, and where in Taiwan it is going. We do not publish prices because every shipment is different. Sea freight to Taiwan is priced per container when you fill one, and per cubic metre when you share one. Air freight to Taiwan is priced on weight or size, whichever is greater. Send us the details and we send you a price in writing, usually the same day.

Which cities in Taiwan do you deliver to?

All of them. New Taipei, Taipei, Taoyuan, Taichung, Kaohsiung, Tainan, Hsinchu, Keelung, Changhua, Chiayi, Pingtung, Hualien, Yilan and Miaoli. Just give us the address and we bring it to the door.

Which ports in Taiwan do you ship to?

Kaohsiung is the principal container gateway and serves the south. Taichung serves the centre. Keelung and the Port of Taipei serve Taipei, New Taipei and the north. For air cargo we fly into Taiwan Taoyuan International.

Which Taiwanese port should my cargo go to?

Whichever is closest to the delivery address. Taiwan is compact, so the road leg is short from any of them, and the choice is about saving a couple of hours rather than avoiding a long haul. Kaohsiung for the south, Taichung for the centre, Keelung or Taipei for the north.

Does my product need an import permit in Taiwan?

Most goods do not. Taiwan lets the majority of commodities in without a general import licence. What needs a permit is anything on the restricted import list, and that is decided by the commodity classification. Send us the product and the HS code and we will tell you which list it falls on.

Do you deliver door to door?

Yes. We handle freight forwarding to Taiwan door to door. We collect the goods in Dubai, move them, clear them through customs, and bring them to your address. You deal with one company for the whole journey.

Can I send a small shipment, or do I need a full container?

You can send as little as one box or one pallet. We put small shipments from different customers into one shared container. This is called LCL, or less than container load. Your goods load at Jebel Ali and come into Kaohsiung. When you have more goods, you move up to your own full container, which is called FCL. We will tell you which one is cheaper.

Can you ship a car from Dubai to Taiwan?

Yes, and there is one rule worth knowing before you buy. A car for personal use with an FOB value above twenty thousand US dollars needs an import permit applied for in advance. Compliance testing and registration are separate steps after that. We could not confirm any blanket maximum vehicle age. Send us the make, model, year, chassis number and value and we will check.

Do you handle customs clearance in Taiwan?

Yes, at both ends. We handle customs clearance in Dubai and customs clearance in Taiwan. You do not need to find your own clearing agent.

Can you collect the goods from my supplier in Dubai?

Yes. We collect anywhere in Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and the rest of the UAE. We can also hold your goods in warehousing and storage in Dubai until you are ready to ship. That helps when you are buying from several suppliers and want everything to travel to Kaohsiung in one container.

Can you ship machinery and heavy equipment to Taiwan?

Yes. We move project cargo to Taiwan as well. Big, heavy items go in open top or flat rack containers, or loose on the ship. Kaohsiung handles the heavier and out of gauge pieces. Send us the size and weight and we will work out the best way to move it.

Can you move my household goods to Taiwan?

Yes. We move full house moves and part loads to Taiwan, including Taipei, Taichung and Kaohsiung. We pack, collect, move and deliver, and we handle the customs clearance so your things are not waiting on paperwork.

I am returning to Taiwan. Do I get any relief on my belongings?

You may. Returning residents can use the unaccompanied baggage procedure for qualifying used personal and household goods, provided the baggage is declared and the customs conditions are met. Tell us your situation and how long you have been away, and we will explain what to expect.

Do I need a certificate of origin?

For some goods, yes. Taiwan requires one for certain products, and you will also want one if you are claiming preferential treatment. Tell us the commodity and the HS code and we will confirm whether yours needs it before the cargo is booked.
