Shipping from Dubai
to Yemen.

We ship from Dubai and from anywhere in the UAE to Yemen by sea. We carry business and personal cargo. Aden is the gateway that runs most reliably, and it is a short sail from Jebel Ali. Conditions differ a great deal between the Yemeni ports, so we confirm what is actually running for your cargo before you commit to anything.

Overview

Sea freight
to Yemen.

Shipping from Dubai to Yemen goes by sea, and the transit depends heavily on which port you are going to. Aden is the most workable gateway and current schedules have shown sailings from Jebel Ali at about 5 days, which is one of the shortest crossings we run. Hodeidah on the Red Sea serves Sanaa and much of the west and north, but access there is affected by inspections and regional security conditions and cannot be promised without checking. Mukalla serves Hadramout and the east. Because the picture changes, we confirm the gateway, the carrier and the routing for your specific cargo before you book rather than quoting a fixed number. We deliver to Sanaa, Aden, Taiz, Hodeidah, Ibb, Mukalla, Dhamar, Seiyun and Marib where conditions allow. Navo Shipping handles the sea freight and customs clearance on the Dubai to Yemen route. Tell us what you are sending and where it is going, and we will tell you honestly what is possible.

Ports and gateways

Sea ports and airports
we ship to from Dubai.

Every bill of lading carries two ports: where the cargo loads, and where it discharges. We load at Jebel Ali or another UAE port. Yemen has three sea ports we use and no airports. They suit different cargo and different inland legs, so the loading port and the discharge port are worth choosing separately.

  1. POLPort of loading

We collect anywhere in the UAE, free zones included, and load at whichever of these eight suits the cargo.

    • Ajman PortAEAJM
  2. PODPort of discharge

The right one is whichever leaves the shortest inland leg to your delivery address. On a long lane that leg is a shipment in its own right, so it is planned rather than assumed.

    • Port of AdenYEADESea port, Gulf of AdenAden and southern Yemen
How cargo reaches Port of Aden Shipping from Dubai to Aden is a short run down the Gulf and along the coast. Public schedule data in August 2026 showed active full container schedules from Jebel Ali at a transit close to 5 days, which makes it one of the quickest international sailings on our network. It is the gateway that has run most consistently. Sea freight is priced per container on a full load and per cubic metre on a shared one. We still reconfirm the service before booking, because this is a lane where things change. Get a rate for Port of Aden
    • Port of HodeidahYEHODSea port, Red SeaHodeidah, Sanaa and much of western and northern Yemen
How cargo reaches Port of Hodeidah Shipping from Dubai to Hodeidah needs clearance from the United Nations verification mechanism before a vessel can discharge, and that, with Red Sea security and whether a carrier will accept the cargo, decides whether the shipment moves at all. Times vary, so we confirm the days when we quote. Aden is the alternative, though it sits under a different authority and needs its own approvals. The quote separates ocean freight, inspection, war risk cover, port handling, customs, guarded inland movement and delivery. Get a rate for Port of Hodeidah
    • Port of MukallaYEMKXSea port, Gulf of AdenHadramout and eastern Yemen
How cargo reaches Port of Mukalla Mukalla serves the east of the country. It functions as a regional cargo gateway, though current direct connectivity from Dubai was not something we could confirm. For a Hadramout delivery it is worth asking about, and the alternative is landing at Aden and moving overland. Get a rate for Port of Mukalla

Import rules
for Yemen.

Yemen does not work like a normal lane, and it would be misleading to describe it as though it does. Import requirements can differ by port, by the authority controlling the arrival area, and by what you are sending. Food, medicines, telecommunications equipment and other regulated cargo may need approval arranged in advance with the authorities at the destination gateway. There is no single national reference number we can point you at, because the position is not uniform across the country. What we do instead is check: before we quote, we confirm with the consignee and the destination customs authority what the current requirements are for that cargo at that port. Tell us what you are sending, who is receiving it and where, and we will come back with a straight answer about what is possible.

Documentation

Documents you need
for Yemen.

These 8 cover most shipments to Yemen. The exact list depends on the commodity and its HS code, so send us both and we confirm what applies before the cargo is booked.

  • 01Invoice showing what you paid for the goods
  • 02Packing list showing what is inside
  • 03Certificate of origin showing where the goods were made
  • 04Bill of lading or air waybill, which is the shipping ticket
  • 05Dubai export paper, which we do for you
  • 06Import permit or regulatory approval, where the destination authority requires one
  • 07Inspection or health certificate, where the cargo needs one
  • 08Attestation of documents, where the consignee or destination customs requires it

Get the paperwork right in Dubai and clearance at destination is routine. Fixing a document after arrival is slow, and storage accrues the whole time it takes.

Questions

Cargo to Yemen
questions, answered.

The 15 we are asked most on the Dubai to Yemen route. If yours is not here, send it with the commodity and we will answer it directly.

Do you offer movers and packers for a house move from Dubai to Yemen?

Yes. Our movers and packers do the packing, wrapping and listing in Dubai, then we ship your furniture and household goods in a full container, or share one if you have less to send. The item by item list matters, because customs clear personal effects against it. Fuel, gas cylinders, paint, aerosols and loose batteries cannot travel, and we give you the full list before packing day.

How long does shipping from Dubai to Yemen take?

It depends entirely on the gateway. Current schedules have shown sea freight to Aden from Jebel Ali at about 5 days, which is one of the shortest crossings we run. Hodeidah and Mukalla vary too much to publish a number for. Tell us the destination town and we will confirm what is running before quoting.

How much does shipping from Dubai to Yemen cost?

It depends on what you send, how big it is, and which gateway it is going to. We do not publish prices because every shipment is different. Sea freight to Yemen is priced per container when you fill one, and per cubic metre when you share one. On this lane insurance and carrier acceptance matter as much as the freight rate. Send us the details and we send you a price in writing.

Which ports in Yemen do you ship to?

Aden is the gateway that has run most consistently and serves the south. Hodeidah on the Red Sea serves Sanaa and the west, subject to current conditions. Mukalla serves Hadramout and the east. Which one suits your cargo is the first thing we check.

Can you deliver to Sanaa?

Ask us and we will tell you honestly. Sanaa is normally served through Hodeidah, and access there is affected by inspections and regional security conditions. The alternative is landing at Aden and moving overland. Which is possible depends on the situation at the time, so we check before quoting rather than promising.

Do you ship to Yemen by air?

Not currently. We could not confirm reliable air cargo service on this lane, so we are not going to advertise one. Sea into Aden is the route that works, and at around 5 days it is quicker than air freight is to a lot of destinations.

Why do you need to check before quoting?

Because this lane changes. Carrier acceptance, port access, inspections and insurance all vary, and a published transit time would be out of date quickly. We would rather tell you what is genuinely running for your cargo this week than quote a number that does not hold.

Do you deliver door to door?

Where conditions allow, yes. We handle freight forwarding to Yemen, collect the goods in Dubai, move them and clear them at the arrival gateway. How far inland we can take them depends on the destination and the situation at the time, so we confirm the delivery leg with you rather than assuming it.

Can I send a small shipment, or do I need a full container?

You can send as little as one pallet. We put small shipments from different customers into one shared container. This is called LCL, or less than container load. Your goods load at Jebel Ali and come into Aden. When you have more goods, you move up to your own full container, which is called FCL. We will tell you which one is cheaper.

Does my cargo need approval before it ships?

It might, and it depends on the port as well as the product. Food, medicines, telecommunications equipment and other regulated cargo may need approval arranged in advance with the authority at the destination gateway. There is no single national number we can point you at. Tell us the cargo and the consignee and we will find out.

Can you ship a car from Dubai to Yemen?

Ask us first. We could not confirm a current nationwide rule on used vehicle imports that we would be willing to publish, and requirements can differ by the authority controlling the arrival area. Send us the make, model, year and chassis number along with the destination, and we will check rather than guess.

Do you handle customs clearance in Yemen?

We handle customs clearance in Dubai, and we arrange clearance at the Yemeni gateway through our agents there. Because requirements differ by port and authority, we confirm the position for your cargo before it moves rather than afterwards.

Can you collect the goods from my supplier in Dubai?

Yes. We collect anywhere in Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and the rest of the UAE. We can also hold your goods in warehousing and storage in Dubai until the routing is confirmed, which on this lane is genuinely useful. It is better for cargo to wait in Dubai than to arrive somewhere it cannot clear.

Can you ship machinery, generators and heavy equipment to Yemen?

Yes. We move project cargo to Yemen as well. Big, heavy items go in open top or flat rack containers, or loose on the ship. Send us the size and weight and the destination and we will tell you what is workable.

Can you move household goods to Yemen?

Yes, where the destination can receive them. We move house moves and part loads, pack, collect and clear at the arrival gateway. We could not confirm a current relief scheme for people moving back, so we will check your situation rather than promise one.
