Shipping from Dubai
to China.
We move cargo to China from Dubai every week, by sea and by air. We ship business and personal cargo. Send a few boxes, a pallet, a full container, or a whole house move. We collect anywhere in the UAE, do the customs paperwork at both ends, and deliver to your address in China.
Overview
Sea and air freight
to China.
Shipping from Dubai to China takes about 18 to 30 days by sea, and 2 to 5 days by air. Sea is much cheaper and suits machinery, spare parts, building materials, furniture and household goods. Air suits urgent and light things. Ships come into Shanghai, Ningbo, Qingdao, Yantian, Xiamen, Shekou and Tianjin. We fly into Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou and Shenzhen. From there we deliver anywhere in China, including Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Ningbo, Yiwu, Qingdao, Tianjin, Chengdu, Chongqing, Hangzhou, Xiamen, Wuhan and Dalian. Navo Shipping handles the sea freight, air freight and customs clearance on the Dubai to China route, door to door. Tell us what you are sending, how heavy it is, and where it is going, and we will tell you which way is cheaper.

Ports and gateways
Sea ports and airports
we ship to from Dubai.
Every bill of lading carries two ports: where the cargo loads, and where it discharges. We load at Jebel Ali or another UAE port. China has 32 sea ports we use and 15 airports. They suit different cargo and different inland legs, so the loading port and the discharge port are worth choosing separately.
POLPort of loading
We collect anywhere in the UAE, free zones included, and load at whichever of these eight suits the cargo.

The right one is whichever leaves the shortest inland leg to your delivery address. On a long lane that leg is a shipment in its own right, so it is planned rather than assumed.

How cargo reaches Shanghai
Shipping from Dubai to Shanghai is the best served pair on this route. Jebel Ali to the Port of Shanghai takes about 18 to 30 days port to port, depending on whether the ship goes direct or changes on the way. It is the default discharge port for eastern China and the one with the most frequent Dubai sailings, which matters when a cut-off has been missed. Sea freight is priced per container on FCL and per cubic metre on LCL. Get a rate for Shanghai - Ningbo-ZhoushanCNNGBSea port · East China SeaZhejiang, Yiwu and the belt south of the delta
How cargo reaches Ningbo-Zhoushan
Shipping from Dubai to Ningbo usually runs on the same strings as Shanghai, often calling one immediately after the other, at roughly 18 to 30 days port to port. It is the shorter road leg for Zhejiang and for Yiwu, and the sensible alternative when Shanghai is congested. Which of the two is quicker depends on the vessel rotation, so we check it for each ship rather than assume it. Get a rate for Ningbo-Zhoushan - QingdaoCNTAOSea port · Yellow SeaShandong and northern China
How cargo reaches Qingdao
Shipping from Dubai to Qingdao is the northern option, and we confirm the days when we quote because there are fewer direct Gulf strings than into the delta. For a consignee in Shandong or the northern industrial belt it normally beats discharging at Shanghai and trucking up, which is a long and expensive domestic leg. Get a rate for Qingdao - YantianCNYTNSea port · South China SeaShenzhen, Dongguan and the Pearl River delta
How cargo reaches Yantian
Shipping from Dubai to Yantian discharges at Shenzhen's container terminal, with transit confirmed when we quote depending on whether the service is direct or relayed. It is the right port for the Pearl River delta and the Greater Bay Area, and the alternative to flying into Guangzhou or Shenzhen when the cargo is not urgent. Get a rate for Yantian - XiamenCNXMNSea port · Taiwan StraitFujian and the southeast coast
How cargo reaches Xiamen
Shipping from Dubai to Xiamen is normally a relayed service rather than a direct call from the Gulf, so transit is confirmed per booking. It suits a consignee in Fujian well enough that it is worth quoting against Yantian, which otherwise carries the domestic road leg. Get a rate for Xiamen - ShekouCNSHKSea port · South China SeaWestern Shenzhen and the Pearl River delta, alongside Yantian
How cargo reaches Shekou
Shipping from Dubai to Shekou runs on eastbound Gulf to China loops, so the container normally stays on the same ship the whole way. Jebel Ali to Shekou takes about 30 to 32 days port to port. Shekou is the named western Shenzhen call on those services, which is why we use it rather than Chiwan next door. Full containers are priced per container and shared cargo per cubic metre. Get a rate for Shekou - ChiwanCNCWNSea port · South China SeaShenzhen, and project and breakbulk cargo in the delta
How cargo reaches Chiwan
Shipping from Dubai to Chiwan has no regular direct call we can rely on, so we bring the cargo into another Shenzhen terminal and arrange the short local transfer. Times vary from ship to ship, so we confirm the days when we quote. Chiwan sits on the same western port complex as Shekou, close to Hong Kong, so the move between them is short. Full containers are priced per container and shared cargo per cubic metre. Get a rate for Chiwan - NanshaCNNSASea port · Pearl RiverGuangzhou and the Greater Bay Area
How cargo reaches Nansha
Shipping from Dubai to Nansha runs on eastbound services from Jebel Ali without changing ships, at about 30 to 33 days port to port. Nansha is the deep water gateway on the west side of the Pearl River delta, and barges link it to the smaller river ports. Full containers are priced per container and shared cargo per cubic metre. Get a rate for Nansha - HuangpuCNHUASea port · Pearl RiverGuangzhou city and general cargo in the delta
How cargo reaches Huangpu
Shipping from Dubai to Huangpu comes in at Nansha first, then goes up the Pearl River by barge to the older Huangpu port area. Times vary from ship to ship, so we confirm the days when we quote. Huangpu suits cargo going into the old port zone, while the bigger ocean ships stay at Nansha. Full containers are priced per container plus the river leg, and shared cargo per cubic metre. Get a rate for Huangpu - Tianjin (Xingang)CNTSNSea port · Bohai SeaBeijing, Hebei and the north China market
How cargo reaches Tianjin (Xingang)
Shipping from Dubai to Tianjin can stay on one Gulf to north China loop, with a few Asian calls on the way. Times vary from ship to ship, so we confirm the days when we quote. Xingang sits on the same service as Jebel Ali, so unlike Yingkou it does not need a feeder ship at the end. Full containers are priced per container and shared cargo per cubic metre. Get a rate for Tianjin (Xingang) - DalianCNDLCSea port · Bohai SeaLiaoning and the northeast
How cargo reaches Dalian
Shipping from Dubai to Dalian can run on a single loop that carries the same ship from Jebel Ali through Oman, Singapore and Korea. Times vary from ship to ship, so we confirm the days when we quote. On that route Dalian is the first mainland China call, so no coastal feeder is needed. Full containers are priced per container and shared cargo per cubic metre. Get a rate for Dalian - YingkouCNYIKSea port · Bohai SeaThe northeastern interior, as the alternative to Dalian
How cargo reaches Yingkou
Shipping from Dubai to Yingkou is best built as a main service into Ningbo and a Chinese coastal feeder on to Yingkou. Times vary from ship to ship, so we confirm the days when we quote. That keeps the box on water instead of forcing it through Dalian and onto a long road leg. Full containers are priced per container plus the feeder leg, and shared cargo per cubic metre. Get a rate for Yingkou - LianyungangCNLYGSea port · Yellow SeaNorthern Jiangsu, and the land bridge west into Central Asia
How cargo reaches Lianyungang
Shipping from Dubai to Lianyungang is quoted as a main service into a Chinese gateway and a coastal feeder on to the port, rather than a promised direct call. Times vary from ship to ship, so we confirm the days when we quote. Ningbo runs a named container service to Lianyungang, so the second leg is a scheduled one. Full containers are priced per container plus the feeder leg, and shared cargo per cubic metre. Get a rate for Lianyungang - NanjingCNNKGSea port · Yangtze RiverJiangsu and the middle Yangtze, on a feeder from Shanghai
How cargo reaches Nanjing
Shipping from Dubai to Nanjing comes in at Shanghai or Ningbo, then moves up the Yangtze on a river feeder. Times vary from ship to ship, so we confirm the days when we quote. Nanjing Longtan is part of the lower Yangtze terminal network, so the river leg is a scheduled service rather than a special arrangement. Full containers are priced per container plus the river leg, and shared cargo per cubic metre. How cargo reaches Wuhan
Shipping from Dubai to Wuhan comes in at Shanghai, then travels up the Yangtze by river feeder to the Yangluo container terminals. Times vary from ship to ship, so we confirm the days when we quote. Wuhan is the middle Yangtze hub, so it is the sensible handover point for Hubei instead of trucking all the way from the coast. Full containers are priced per container plus the river leg, and shared cargo per cubic metre. Get a rate for Wuhan - FuzhouCNFOCSea port · Taiwan StraitNorthern Fujian
How cargo reaches Fuzhou
Shipping from Dubai to Fuzhou is normally a main service into Ningbo and a Chinese coastal feeder down to Fujian, rather than a direct call from the Gulf. Times vary from ship to ship, so we confirm the days when we quote. Ningbo runs a named container service to Fuzhou, so the second leg is scheduled. Full containers are priced per container plus the feeder leg, and shared cargo per cubic metre. Get a rate for Fuzhou - ShantouCNSWASea port · South China SeaEastern Guangdong
How cargo reaches Shantou
Shipping from Dubai to Shantou has no regular direct call we can rely on, so we use a south China gateway and move the cargo on from there. Times vary from ship to ship, so we confirm the days when we quote. Shenzhen carries the stronger network on this lane, so it is usually the better entry point for eastern Guangdong. Full containers are priced per container plus the onward leg, and shared cargo per cubic metre. Get a rate for Shantou - ZhuhaiCNZUHSea port · Pearl River estuaryWestern Guangdong and the Macau side of the bay
How cargo reaches Zhuhai
Shipping from Dubai to Zhuhai comes in at Nansha, then crosses the Pearl River estuary by shuttle barge. Times vary from ship to ship, so we confirm the days when we quote. The barge network exists for exactly this move, so the box stays on water instead of taking the long road around the bay. Full containers are priced per container plus the barge leg, and shared cargo per cubic metre. Get a rate for Zhuhai - HaikouCNHAKSea port · Qiongzhou StraitHainan and the free trade port
How cargo reaches Haikou
Shipping from Dubai to Haikou has no regular direct call we can rely on, so we price a south China gateway and a separate leg across to the island. Times vary from ship to ship, so we confirm the days when we quote. Hainan is a free trade port, so tell us early what the goods are and we check what applies. Full containers are priced per container plus the island leg, and shared cargo per cubic metre. Get a rate for Haikou - Hong KongHKHKGSea port · South China SeaHong Kong and the Pearl River delta. A separate customs area, so the paperwork differs from mainland China
How cargo reaches Hong Kong
Shipping from Dubai to Hong Kong is booked into the Kwai Tsing terminals, and we check the service pattern for each departure. Times vary from ship to ship, so we confirm the days when we quote. Cargo for Hong Kong lands there directly instead of entering through a mainland port, and because Hong Kong is a separate customs area the paperwork differs. Full containers are priced per container and shared cargo per cubic metre. Get a rate for Hong Kong - QinzhouCNQZHSea port · Gulf of TonkinGuangxi, and the southwestern land–sea corridor toward Chongqing
How cargo reaches Qinzhou
Shipping from Dubai to Qinzhou needs the schedule checked before booking, because the services in each direction do not mirror each other. Times vary from ship to ship, so we confirm the days when we quote. The relay point changes with the service, so we confirm the routing when we quote rather than assume it. Full containers are priced per container plus any relay leg, and shared cargo per cubic metre. Get a rate for Qinzhou - ZhangjiagangCNZJGSea port · Yangtze RiverSouthern Jiangsu, on the lower Yangtze
How cargo reaches Zhangjiagang
Shipping from Dubai to Zhangjiagang comes in at Shanghai or Ningbo, then a lower Yangtze feeder carries the box upriver. Times vary from ship to ship, so we confirm the days when we quote. How cargo reaches Nantong
Shipping from Dubai to Nantong comes in at Shanghai or Ningbo, then takes a short lower Yangtze feeder across to Nantong. Times vary from ship to ship, so we confirm the days when we quote. How cargo reaches Taicang
Shipping from Dubai to Taicang comes in at Shanghai, then moves through the lower Yangtze feeder system. Times vary from ship to ship, so we confirm the days when we quote. How cargo reaches Zhongshan
Shipping from Dubai to Zhongshan comes in at Nansha, then goes on by Pearl River shuttle barge. Times vary from ship to ship, so we confirm the days when we quote. How cargo reaches Da Chan Bay
Shipping from Dubai to Da Chan Bay can run on a Gulf to south China loop that calls both ports on one rotation. Times vary from ship to ship, so we confirm the days when we quote. That makes it a direct option rather than a general discharge somewhere in the Shenzhen area. Full containers are priced per container and shared cargo per cubic metre. Get a rate for Da Chan Bay - ChangshuSea port · Yangtze RiverSuzhou and the lower Yangtze industrial belt
How cargo reaches Changshu
Shipping from Dubai to Changshu comes in at Shanghai or another lower Yangtze gateway, then finishes by river. Times vary from ship to ship, so we confirm the days when we quote. Before you ship
Import rules
for China.
China checks two things, and we look at both with you before you ship. First, some products need a CCC mark. That is a Chinese safety approval, and it covers things like electrical goods, car parts and toys. Many products do not need it. If yours does, it has to be arranged before the goods arrive. Second, for food and a few other categories, the company sending the goods has to be registered with Chinese customs first. That registration takes time, so it is worth starting early. Tell us what you are sending and we will check both and tell you what applies.

Documentation
Documents you need
for China.
These 7 cover most shipments to China. The exact list depends on the commodity and its HS code, so send us both and we confirm what applies before the cargo is booked.
- 01Invoice showing what you paid for the goods
- 02Packing list showing what is inside
- 03Certificate of origin showing where the goods were made
- 04Bill of lading or air waybill, which is the shipping ticket
- 05Dubai export paper, which we do for you
- 06CCC certificate, if your product needs one
- 07Sender registration with Chinese customs, for food and some other goods
Get the paperwork right in Dubai and clearance at destination is routine. Fixing a document after arrival is slow, and storage accrues the whole time it takes.

Questions
Cargo to China
questions, answered.
The 15 we are asked most on the Dubai to China route. If yours is not here, send it with the commodity and we will answer it directly.
Do you offer movers and packers for a house move from Dubai to China?
Yes. Our movers and packers do the packing, wrapping and listing in Dubai, then we ship your furniture and household goods in a full container, or share one if you have less to send. The item by item list matters, because customs clear personal effects against it. Fuel, gas cylinders, paint, aerosols and loose batteries cannot travel, and we give you the full list before packing day.
How long does shipping from Dubai to China take?
About 18 to 30 days by sea, and 2 to 5 days by air. Then add a few days for customs and delivery to your city. We give you a date in writing when we quote.
How much does shipping from Dubai to China cost?
It depends on what you send, how big it is, and which city it goes to. We do not publish prices because every shipment is different. Send us the details and we send you a price in writing, usually the same day.
Which cities in China do you deliver to?
All of them. Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Ningbo, Yiwu, Qingdao, Tianjin, Chengdu, Chongqing, Hangzhou, Suzhou, Xiamen, Wuhan, Zhengzhou, Dalian, Foshan and Changsha. Just give us the address and we bring it to the door.
Which Chinese ports do you ship to?
Shanghai and Ningbo are the busiest. We also use Qingdao and Tianjin for the north, Yantian, Shekou, Chiwan and Nansha for the Pearl River delta, and Xiamen for Fujian. We pick the one closest to you.
Can you deliver inland, to Chengdu, Chongqing or Zhengzhou?
Yes. Cargo comes into a coastal port and then travels inland by train or truck. Some inland cities have their own customs points, so the goods can clear near you instead of at the coast. That usually works out faster.
Do you deliver door to door?
Yes. We handle freight forwarding to China door to door. We collect the goods in Dubai, ship them, clear them through customs, and bring them to your address. You deal with one company for the whole journey.
Can I send a small shipment, or do I need a full container?
You can send as little as one box or one pallet. We put small shipments from different customers into one shared container. This is called LCL, or less than container load. Your goods load at Jebel Ali and come into Shanghai. When you have more goods, you move up to your own full container, which is called FCL. We will tell you which one is cheaper.
What is a CCC mark, and does my product need it?
It is a Chinese safety approval. It covers things like electrical goods, car parts and toys. Many products do not need it. If yours does, it has to be arranged before the goods arrive, so tell us early and we will check.
Do I need to register as a sender?
For food and a few other categories, yes. The company sending the goods has to be registered with Chinese customs before shipping. It takes time, so start early. For most general cargo it does not apply. We will tell you which applies to you.
Is Hong Kong the same as mainland China?
No. Hong Kong is a separate customs area, so it is a different declaration and different paperwork. If your goods are for Hong Kong rather than the mainland, tell us at the start because it changes the routing and the documents.
Do you handle customs clearance in China?
Yes, at both ends. We do the export papers in Dubai and our agent clears the goods in China. You do not need to find your own clearing agent.
Can you collect the goods from my supplier in Dubai?
Yes. We collect anywhere in Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and the rest of the UAE. We can also hold your goods in warehousing and storage in Dubai until you are ready to ship. That helps when you are buying from several suppliers and want everything to travel to Shanghai in one container.
Can you ship machinery and heavy equipment to China?
Yes. We move project cargo to China as well. Big, heavy items go in open top or flat rack containers, or loose on the ship into Shanghai. Send us the size and weight and we will work out the best way to move it.
Can you move my household goods to China?
Yes. We move full house moves and part loads. We pack, collect, ship and deliver, and we handle the customs side. Household goods follow different rules from commercial cargo, so tell us which it is.
