Shipping from Dubai
to Oman.
We ship from Dubai and from anywhere in the UAE to Oman every week, by road, by sea and by air. We ship business and personal cargo. Send a few boxes, a pallet, a full container, or a whole house move. Road is usually the quickest way, because Muscat is only a day or two from Dubai by truck.
Overview
Sea, road and air freight
to Oman.
Shipping from Dubai to Oman takes about 1 to 3 days by road, 2 to 8 days by sea, and 1 to 3 days by air. Road is the most popular choice because Oman is next door and the truck goes straight to your door. Sea suits heavy and bulky loads through Sohar, Salalah and Duqm. Air suits urgent and light goods. We move machinery, building materials, furniture, electronics, food and household goods. We deliver to every city, including Muscat, Sohar, Salalah, Nizwa, Sur, Duqm, Barka, Rustaq, Ibri, Ibra and Buraimi. Navo Shipping handles the sea freight, land freight, air freight and customs clearance on the Dubai to Oman route, door to door. Tell us what you are sending, how heavy it is, and where it is going, and we will tell you which way is cheaper.

Ports and gateways
Sea ports and airports
we ship to from Dubai.
Every bill of lading carries two ports: where the cargo loads, and where it discharges. We load at Jebel Ali or another UAE port. Oman has five sea ports we use and four airports. They suit different cargo and different inland legs, so the loading port and the discharge port are worth choosing separately.
POLPort of loading
We collect anywhere in the UAE, free zones included, and load at whichever of these eight suits the cargo.

PODPort of discharge
The right one is whichever leaves the shortest inland leg to your delivery address. On a long lane that leg is a shipment in its own right, so it is planned rather than assumed.

How cargo reaches Sohar
Shipping from Dubai to Sohar is the short sea leg on this route. The ship goes out through the Strait of Hormuz and down the Gulf of Oman, 2 to 8 days port to port depending on whether the box catches a direct feeder or transships. Sohar took over container, bulk, ro-ro and project traffic from Port Sultan Qaboos in 2014, which makes it the sea gateway for Muscat as well as for its own free zone. On this pair it is always worth pricing a truck alongside the container, because the road distance is short enough that the freight saving can be smaller than the time cost. How cargo reaches Salalah
Shipping from Dubai to Salalah sails right down the Omani coast into the Arabian Sea, 2 to 8 days port to port. Salalah is one of the region's major transhipment hubs, so it is well served overall, though not always by a direct sailing from Jebel Ali. Whether your box changes ship on the way is the biggest thing that moves the transit time. For anywhere in Dhofar it is the correct entry point, and the alternative is the full length of the country by road. How cargo reaches Duqm
Shipping from Dubai to Duqm serves the special economic zone on the central Arabian Sea coast. We confirm the days when we quote, because service frequency here is thinner than at Sohar or Salalah and a wait for the right vessel can outweigh the sea time. For project cargo tied to the zone it is the right discharge port; for general distribution, Sohar usually has the better frequency. Before you ship
Import rules
for Oman.
Oman checks that products meet its safety rules before they arrive, and we arrange it with you. Regulated goods need a Certificate of Conformity, which is issued here in Dubai before your shipment leaves. It covers things like electrical goods, building materials, toys and car parts. Plenty of products do not need one. The other thing to know is the border file. Road shipments cross at Hatta or Al Wajajah, and the paperwork has to match the goods exactly or the truck waits. We prepare that for you. Tell us what you are sending and we will confirm what applies before you book.

Documentation
Documents you need
for Oman.
These 7 cover most shipments to Oman. The exact list depends on the commodity and its HS code, so send us both and we confirm what applies before the cargo is booked.
- 01Invoice showing what you paid for the goods
- 02Packing list showing what is inside
- 03Certificate of origin showing where the goods were made
- 04Bill of lading, air waybill or road manifest
- 05Dubai export paper, which we do for you
- 06Certificate of Conformity, which we arrange if your product needs one
- 07The Omani buyer trade licence number
Get the paperwork right in Dubai and clearance at destination is routine. Fixing a document after arrival is slow, and storage accrues the whole time it takes.

Questions
Cargo to Oman
questions, answered.
The 15 we are asked most on the Dubai to Oman route. If yours is not here, send it with the commodity and we will answer it directly.
Do you offer movers and packers for a house move from Dubai to Oman?
Yes. Our movers and packers do the packing, wrapping and listing in Dubai, then we ship your furniture and household goods in a full container, or share one if you have less to send. The item by item list matters, because customs clear personal effects against it. Fuel, gas cylinders, paint, aerosols and loose batteries cannot travel, and we give you the full list before packing day.
How long does shipping from Dubai to Oman take?
About 1 to 3 days by road, 2 to 8 days by sea, and 1 to 3 days by air. Road is usually quickest because Oman is next door. We give you a date in writing when we quote.
How much does shipping from Dubai to Oman cost?
It depends on what you send, how big it is, and which city it goes to. We do not publish prices because every shipment is different. Send us the details and we send you a price in writing, usually the same day.
Is road or sea better for Oman?
Road, most of the time. Muscat is a day or two by truck and the goods go straight to your door with no port handling. Sea is worth it for very heavy or bulky loads, and for Salalah and Duqm, which are a long drive from Dubai.
Which cities in Oman do you deliver to?
All of them. Muscat, Sohar, Salalah, Nizwa, Sur, Duqm, Barka, Rustaq, Ibri, Ibra, Adam, Khasab and Buraimi. Just give us the address and we bring it to the door.
Which Omani ports do you ship to?
Sohar is the main one and it serves Muscat and the Batinah coast. Salalah covers the south, and Duqm serves the central coast and its industrial zone. We pick whichever suits your delivery city.
Can you deliver to Salalah?
Yes. Salalah is a long drive from Dubai, so sea is often better for that part of the country. We can also fly into Salalah for urgent goods. We will price both and tell you which makes sense.
Do you deliver door to door?
Yes. We handle freight forwarding to Oman door to door. We collect the goods in Dubai, move them, clear customs at the border or port, and bring them to your address. You deal with one company for the whole journey.
Can I send a small shipment, or do I need a full container?
You can send as little as one box or one pallet. We put small shipments from different customers into one shared container. This is called LCL, or less than container load. Your goods load at Jebel Ali and come into Sohar. When you have more goods, you move up to your own full container, which is called FCL. We will tell you which one is cheaper.
Can you ship a car from Dubai to Oman?
Yes, by road or by sea. It is a short and common move. Send us the make, model and chassis number and we will confirm the paperwork and give you a price.
What is a Certificate of Conformity?
It is a document showing your product meets Omani safety rules. It is issued here in Dubai before your goods leave. It covers things like electrical goods, building materials, toys and car parts. Many products do not need one, so tell us the product and we will check.
Do you handle customs clearance in Oman?
Yes, at both ends. We handle customs clearance in Dubai and customs clearance in Oman. You do not need to find your own clearing agent.
Can you collect the goods from my supplier in Dubai?
Yes. We collect anywhere in Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and the rest of the UAE. We can also hold your goods in warehousing and storage in Dubai until you are ready to ship. That helps when you are buying from several suppliers and want everything to travel to Sohar in one container.
Can you ship machinery and building materials to Oman?
Yes, and it is a lot of what we move on this route. Heavy and oversized items go on flatbed trucks or in open top containers. Send us the size and weight and we will work out the best way.
Can you move my household goods to Oman?
Yes. We move full house moves and part loads. We pack, collect, move and deliver, and we handle the customs side so your things are not waiting at the border on paperwork.
